"I talked to (Name) today." said Kiba, grinning while showing his sharp teeth.
"Crashing into her on purpose so that she apologizes isn't the same as talking." said Neji.
"What ? You saw ?" KIba whined. Neji scoffed.
"Of course, I did. After all, I'm always--"
Neji stopped, realizing something very secret almost slipped out of his mouth. Kiba realized it and smirked. "You're always what ?" he asked. Neji cleared hi throat.
"Nothing."
"I'm telling Ten Ten about this." Kiba teased. Neji glared at him.
"Why are we still talking about that (Name) ?" said Sasuke. He leaned back and stared up at the sky.
It was the break and Neji, Kiba, Sasuke, Naruto and Shino were the only ones at their usual table outside. The rest were supposedly late, but nobody cared much.
"Ah, speaking of (Name)," said Naruto, looking up from his bowl of ramen, "Today morning, Sasuke--"
Sasuke threw his shoe at Naruto's face to shut him up. It hit Naruto perfectly in the middle of his face and then landed on the ground. Sasuke picked it up and wore it again.
"Look. You spoiled my shoe." he said.
"More like, you spoiled my face, idiot !" yelled Naruto, getting up suddenly and spilling his ramen on himself. He looked at the empty bowl with teary eyes. "My ramen.." he whined.
"Clumsy." snickered Sasuke. Naruto glared at him.
"This is all your fault." he said. "What am I supposed to eat now ?"
"Just get another one." said Sasuke. He leaned back again and looked up. The school building came into his sight. Suddenly, he saw movement near one of the windows. He sat up straight and turned around. There was nobody there. It was the old Chemistry Lab which nobody used anymore because of a recent explosion. They already had enough empty rooms to make another one their new Lab.
"But I don't have money." whined Naruto.
"Just eat my lunch then." Sasuke shoved his lunch into Naruto's hand and hurried off. He had to make sure who - or what - was in there.
"I don't want sandwiches." Sasuke heard Naruto whining. He ignored him and kept running. He pushed the school buildings door open. It hit somebody.
"Ow-- Sasuke ?"
It was Sakura and her friends. Sasuke mentally cursed her. That fan-girl face she made annoyed him the most. He ignored her and left without apologizing even though he was clearly the one at fault.
"Where're you going ?" Sakura called out after him, but he ignored here. Sasuke had better things to do than to answer an annoying fan-girl.
"Make sure to look ahead when you're running like that next time !" an angry voice which he recognized as Ten Ten's said. He knew Ten Ten was not one of his fan-girls and was strong enough and not hesitant to take him on anytime. He looked back even though there were out of his sight, and bumped into the wall. Sasuke rubbed his head.
I should've listened to her.
Sasuke sprinted up two flights of stairs and he was standing in front of the old Chemistry Lab. He took in a deep breath and kept his hand on the handle. He exhaled and opened the door loudly, scanning all his surroundings. He took a walk around, but still found no one - nothing - out of place. He looked outside the window and saw their table. He could here their loud voices but could not make out what they were talking about. Naruto was eating his sandwiches after all and somebody had given him some rice-balls. Sasuke sighed. Naruto was just too pampered.
Sasuke closed the door without a noise and slowly walked down the stairs. He took his time to reach their lunch table. He wasn't even that hungry.
"Oh, Sasuke, where did you run off to ?" asked Naruto. Sasuke said nothing and Naruto did not look as if he was expecting an answer anyway.
"Sasuke, sit next to me." said Sakura, patting on the bench beside her. Sasuke ignored her and sat where he was sitting before. What disgusted him the most was that the fan-girls took whatever he threw at them. They never gave up no matter how rude he was.
Sasuke saw Ino and Sakura glaring at each other, probably because the latter asked him to sit beside her. But, he couldn't care less.
"Sasuke, I ate your all your sandwiches." said Naruto. Sasuke gave him a look which meant he did not care about it.
"You mean those were Sasuke's sandwiches ?!" Ino screeched and banged the table. "How could you eat them ?!" She reached over and shook Naruto back and forth. Sakura joined her. Sasuke sighed. Like Naruto, he had also bought his lunch from the school's cafeteria. They weren't his sandwiches.
"Hey, where do you think (Name) eats her lunch ?" asked Choji while eating.
"I wonder." replied Shikamaru who wasn't interested in eating and had his head down on the table.
"Nah. I know you don't even care. It must be a drag for you." Kiba joked and playfully slapped Shikamaru on his back. Shikamaru sat up and glared at Kiba.
"Shut up." he said.
Sasuke sighed loudly interrupting everyone at the table. "Why are we still talking about (Name) ?"
"Oh, that's right. You don't like her, do you ?" said Kiba. Sasuke looked at him, meaning 'yes.'
"Don't you think, Uchiha, that you should keep your jealousy matters to yourself and let others talk about what they want ?" said Neji and glared at Sasuke.
"Hn." said Sasuke and looked back up. He wasn't jealous. (Name) wasn't even in the same league as him. There's no way he would be jealous of somebody like her. She was a loner too. Even though Sasuke hated everyone, he had a larger number of people he socialized with than (Name). Just because she had beat him at the entrance exam did not mean that she was better than him.
Sasuke sighed and looked back at the Chemistry Lab. He was sure he had seen something there.
I wonder what that was.
