**************

Athena looked at the woman "Kassandra, my mother searched for you and couldn't find proof of your existence." she said

"She did find me, and I asked her to keep my involvement with her project a secret. There are those who would be after me for the staff and in the wrong hands it will be dangerous." Kassandra replied

"You said something about a Prophesy?" she asked

"Yes, one that I had been present for, before the one who said it passed." Kassandra said sadly, "Like you, she and her sisters were my descendants raised by Saladin who loved them as if they were his own daughters."

Saladin was the Sultan of Egypt and Syria and had high respect for Baldwin IV before and after his death never once letting his forces desecrate where Baldwin IV rested. Athena had always wondered what it would be like if Baldwin had lived. Baldwin V was a jackass and wanted nothing but war. Baldwin IV wanted peace and would punish those who disturbed it "Saladin is a name I am very familiar with," she said.

Kassandra nodded "Alma was meant to be Queen of the Assassins and Templars, each of her sisters having a soulmate within each faction as well as herself, but prior to meeting her soulmate she fell in love with a member of her Assassin guard."

"Ooo, I take it the Templars weren't too happy when they found out," she replied

"Quite the opposite really," Kassandra replied, "Athena's soulmate James de Saber couldn't have children due to getting the mumps, and had respect for the Assassin who cared for his soulmate in his stead until his arrival."

"That is a plus I suppose," she mused

"James was the younger brother of Templar Grand-Master Robert de Saber, the brothers both agreed that the child would not be kept in the dark about their true father, and both agreed that when the child was old enough said child would be sent to Masyaf to train as an Assassin," Kassandra began, "The Assassins all wondered who could be the child's sire, and agreed to train the child when the time came, no one really opposed this, but there were those who lurk in the shadows who thought the child would be taught the ways of the Templars also, and they were right. The Mentor of the Assassins the traitor Al Mualim agreed to this."

"Al Mualim was a Templar Grand-Master also was he not?" she asked

"He was," Kassandra replied with a nod, "It was when Alma's close friend Altair Ibn-La'Ahad had been sent away on a mission to retrieve her sister Ula was Alma and her mate attacked."

"I am sure even Saladin would not allow his adopted daughters to come to harm," she said

"They were caught unaware unfortunately it was the wedding, after all, James fought valiantly only to fall to a hidden blade while Alma was stabbed by the knife of a Templar." Kassandra said sadly, "I was there as she took her last breaths as she saw you."

"Me?" she asked

"Yes, you Athena descendent of the brother hidden my heir as well as my brother's," Kassandra said, "Speak of this for years to come, a time shall come when she will come, the new chalice to bring peace to those now at war. Eyes the color of a hidden blade, hair the color of a raven's wings, skin that has been loved by the sun above, wearing robes the colors of blood wielding the sword and spear of those who came before.
