A Templar's Worst Nightmare PT 1

Author's Note: Athena is about to have an encounter with Robert de Saber and his Templars and at the same time prove as to why she is their worst nightmare for attacking Assassins, especially her ancestral family.

Athena hid in the shadows keeping out of sight until she was needed watching the three Assassins as they looked upon the apple sitting on the eagle's wings of the Ark. The master of the group was speaking to one of the other two "I am you're superior in both title and ability." the Master Assassin said.

Athena rolled her eyes who the hell was this punk son of a bitch she had been hearing the Master and the mid-ranked Assassin bicker back and forth the entire time. While the Novice assassin gave the master praise "Athena, it's Kassandra, the three you are seeing is Altair Ibn-La'Ahad, Malik Al-Sayf, and his younger brother Kadar Al-Sayf." Kassandra informed her

"Who knew the great Altair Ibn-La'Ahad was such a fucking prick," she replied softly

"Malik, Athena is your mother's ancestor on her mother's side of the family. More specifically her mother's mother." Kassandra explained.

Athena knew what was about to happen, with Robert de Saber down there and Altair acting like Mr. Big Shit. She was already half tempted to go down there and kick his ass all over the damn room in front of not only his fellow Assassins but the Templars to. Athena continued to watch them closely as Altair and Malik argued some more low enough that the Templar's couldn't hear, but she could "Well I say it is necessary." Altair argued before moving down to confront the Templars.

Athena watched the whole scene play out Malik tried to stop Altair from attacking Robert only to fail "Athena, you may want to do something fast." Cory said

"Already on it," she said lowly. 

Athena stuck to the shadows moving in Robert threw out Altair causing the entryway to cave in upon itself leaving Malik and Kadar trapped to deal with the Templars "Men kill the Assassins!" Robert ordered

"How about not," she said stepping out of the shadows while taking Democlies off of her back.

Everyone who remained in the room looked at her "Brother," the Novice said, "It is just as Alma said." 

She stood between the two groups as she activated her eagle vision Templars showed up as red all the way around, but 2 of the Templars had black in the outline of their aura. This was a curious thing indeed "The Crimson Assassin!" Robert said in shock as the two with the black outlined aura attacked her, "Kill the other two we cannot let them have her!"

Athena twirled Democlies in her hand "To get to them you have to go through me." she said lowly.

Malik was in shock that the Crimson Assassin would defend him and his brother the Templars tried to get past her and at them only for her to redirect them. Robert tried to grab her only to be kicked in the groin which he actually felt sorry for the Templar on, Allah be damned no man wanted to be kicked down there and she just kicked the hell out of de Saber down there. Three of them managed to get past her as he and Kadar fought them. A fourth came up behind him and he was able to counter before the 2nd tried to cut his arm off. The Crimson Assassin sent two knives sinking into his opponents as Kadar was stabbed in the abdomen "NO!" he cried out and rushed to his little brother's side.

The Crimson assassin slammed the tip of her sword into the ground sending electricity out at the Templars leaving him and his brother unharmed as de Saber had what remained of them retreat. He put pressure on his brother's wound as he caught movement out the corner of his eye and seen the crimson robed assassin kneel down on the other side of his brother "sa'uetih blsmana likasb alwaqt. sa'ahtaj 'iilaa musaeidatik lilwusul 'iilaa biqaya dakhil alsafinat." she said (I am going to give him a balm to buy him time. I am going to need your help to get to the relic inside of the Ark.)

Malik nodded as she pulled out a jar and removed the lid it was a paste of some kind, he could smell different healing herbs all of them floral in their scent. She worked quickly and applied the balm to his brother's wound "saeidni fi qalbih ealaa 'ana alsyf dhahab mubasharatan min khilalih." she directed (Help me turn him over that sword went straight through him.)

"laghtik alearabiat la tushubuha shayibatun." he commented (Your Arabic is flawless.)

"allughat alearabiat laysat swa wahidatan min aledyd min allughat alty taelimatuha." she replied (Arabic is only one of the many languages I learned.) 

Malik was shocked "shaqiq," Kadar said(Brother,).

Malik looked down at his younger brother "aintazar Kadar , sawf najid tariqatan li'iislah hadha." he soothed his brother who nodded (Hold on Kadar, we will find a way to fix this.)

"I know how we are going to do it too, there is another artifact one that I was sent to find myself. It is inside the Ark itself. You and I are going to need to work together to reach it." she said in English.

He nodded as she looked down at Kadar "Don't worry Kadar you will be back on your feet soon enough, for now, rest up and don't move. Healer's orders." she said.

Kadar nodded as she saw to his arm "They will have to amputate, but I can slow the blood flow." she said

"Do it," he said.

Tony watched in awe as Athena seen to both brother's injuries before turning to the Ark. The pair worked together to reach it as Malik took the orb the pair pushed back the lid as Athena reached in and grabbed what she had originally been sent to get. Malik looked at it as the translation software kicked in "It's an Egyptian Anhk." Malik said.

Athena nodded "One that has been lost to time, this has the ability to heal those on the brink of death, as well as to revive the dead if and when it chooses to do so." Athena replied, "This will save your brother's life, then we can deal with the Novice who was tossed out on his head." 

Malik smirked then nodded before both of them went back to Kadar. The Anhk glowed softly as the color returned to the younger Al-Sayf. Gray eyes opened as the younger sat up and looked at Athena and his older brother "Thank you," Kadar said

"Kadar is so young," Cory said, "He was supposed to die." 

"Not if he can be saved in time, he will be the first to arrive here and train with the others," Kassandra said.

Tony nodded and watched as the Trio made it out of the temple his mind racing at what Athena would do next. He hoped that she wouldn't do anything to get herself killed, but it looked like that may happen. As the three rode to the Assassin stronghold he was sure Athena was plotting ways to drive Robert de Saber insane...
