"hangyul!" his boyfriend— ex boyfriend now— called after him, watching as the beta ran away from him, tears rolling down his cheek. the alpha let out a sigh and scratched the back of his head as he turned to the omega who was pinned to the wall, "whatever. he wasn't an omega anyways. now where were we?"
hangyul dashed away— his feet taking him to wherever they felt like it. he wanted to turn back after he heard his boyfriend's name, but he didn't want to see that omega all over him. it was always omegas. they had their sweet, attractive scent and a pretty face— something hangyul didn't have.
he ran out of the condo and turned at the corner of the street and leaned his back against the wall, sliding down and hugging his legs close to his chest in an empty alley. faint sobs came out of his mouth as he tried to suppress them. hot, wet tears stained his hoodie— it was actually his boyfriend's hoodie which made him hate it even more.
"s-stupid omega" hangyul sniffled, wiping his tears with the sleeve of the hoodie. the only thing that was comforting him now was his ex boyfriend's scent. he felt pathetic. he wanted to get that scent off of him, but his mind wouldn't allow it.
he's been with minjun for almost two years after all. it wasn't easy to get a scent that belonged to a person that was once so close to him. they were in a healthy relationship until things got a little off when he smelled another scent on minjun one day.
he knew the difference between and omega's scent and a beta's scent. he didn't want to believe the alpha was cheating on him— he couldn't. he trusted minjoon so much that he ended up getting himself hurt.
would it have been different if he were an omega? omegas were more loving and cute and cheerful— of course minjun would like someone like that. but hangyul thought he liked him.
"w-why did i have to be a b-beta?" hangyul muttered, wiping his remaining tears as he inhaled the faint scent emitting from the hoodie. he only found tears running down his cheeks even more after that— his cries getting louder as he tried to cover his mouth and muffle them.
why was he crying? he should've expected it to happen. no one really loves him. it was all just a show minjun put on to keep up with him. why would anyone like— love him? there was nothing special about him.
as soon as his best friend, yohan, heard the news, the boy quickly rushed over, leaving his class to meet up at the condo where hangyul was sitting near to which he hadn't moved an inch ever since seeing the omega all over his ex-boyfriend.
"hangyul" yohan whispered, seeing his friend sniffling in the alleyway. he crouched down and put his hands on the beta's shoulders, "what happened? tell me so i can go beat the shit out of him!"
yohan was always caring towards hangyul and hangyul especially. he was the boy's best friend ever since junior high after all. after hearing about him being abused as a kid, yohan couldn't help but want to protect the boy. yohan was an alpha after all.
wasn't it an alpha's job to keep his best friend safe?
"d-don't!" hangyul shook his head, grabbing the boy's hand and holding him back as he looked at him through his teary eyes.
yohan let out a sigh, "let's go back to the dorm. you can't stay here and cry hangyul" his eyes wandered down to the tear soaked sleeve and quickly notice the scent of the alpha on it, "take it off"
hangyul shook his head, standing up with the help of yohan, "it s-smells good" a sniffle was heard right after he said that, making yohan click his tongue and wipe the boy's tears.
"you're going to cry even more if you keep it on" yohan mumbled, hangyul not even bothering to hear that. the only scent that was comforting to him was his alpha's scent— even though he wasn't dating him anymore.
the two walked back to the dorms on outside of campus. just as they were about to go inside and call it a day, hangyul tugged onto the back of yohan's sweater, making him stop.
"let's drink" hangyul muttered, looking down at his feet. he hardly drank— no he barely drank since he was so bad with alcohol. even yohan knew that. the boy would do embarrassing things that he'd never remember the next day until yohan told him about it.
he did drink once with minjun, letting the alpha take his first kiss, but the thought of that just made him heartbroken. he just wanted to drown his feelings in alcohol. he wanted to forget everything and hope that it was just a terrible dream he was in.
but of course he knew that it wasn't a dream.
"but—"
"i w-want to" hangyul looked at the alpha with tear filled eyes, quickly wiping them before they fell down his cheeks once again. yohan was reluctant but nonetheless, agreed. he knew exactly what hangyul wanted to do.
they went to their favorite fried chicken place which they would normally come and eat after their classes ended, but it was different today. hangyul ordered all of the beer he could find on the menu while crying his eyes out and practically scaring the beta who was taking their order.
after the first few bottles, hangyul stopped crying and that turned into sniffling and hiccuping as he bit onto his fifth piece of fried chicken. yohan, on the other hand, was busy watching over hangyul to make sure he didn't do anything stupid, but he did have a couple drinks. his alcohol tolerance wasn't as bad as hangyul's but that didn't mean he didn't get drunk.
"h-he *hic* lef— *hic* me" hangyul said drunkly, sniffling as hot, warm tears ran down his cheeks. he picked up his glass of soju and downed it in one sitting.
"that assholeeeeeee" yohan's words slurred out of his mouth as he dug his head into his arms, his head feeling dizzy. after mumbling a couple incoherent words, he knocked out on the table.
hangyul was too busy drinking and pouring himself more cups to realize that yohan was wasted until a hand stopped him from grabbing his third bottle of soju. he sniffled before looking up through his teary eyes.
"you shouldn't drink too much" the person who he thought was a stranger told him. hangyul could barely recognize who it was through his blurry vision but he found the stranger's scent quite pleasing, "you're already drunk"
somehow more pleasing than the one on his hoodie.
"mmm not *hic* drunk!" hangyul mumbled, shaking away the boy's hand. he then felt the warm hands of the stranger wiping away his tears. of course he was too drunk to even care about who was in front of him. he was only here to drink away his feelings wasn't he.
only, the person that was in front of him was cho seungyoun. his sunbae.
