The morning came along with the scorching sun, roosters in the animal farms crowed as the giant orb of heat rose up to the sky. John and Justin slowly woke up, stretching followed by the cracking of their bones filled the room. "Good morning." John greeted while rubbing his eyes, still tired from the day before. "Good morning to you too." Justin said back, stretching his back, trying to get himself excited for the new day. Justin turned his head towards his other friends' bed, confusion filled his brain. He stood up, inspecting the whole room from right to left, still no sign of Arkin and Kyle. "So... uhhh..." Justin spoke, unable to form a coherent sentence to explain that their friends were missing. "What?" John asked, trying not to sound mean. "You know two guys called Arkin and Kyle?" Justin asked. John raised his hand to his face, rubbing both his eyes with his pointer finger and thumb. "Yes, Justin. I know two guys called Arkin and Kyle, we've known them for years." John replied, trying his best to restrain the anger from his voice.
"They're missing." Justin said calmly, yet John could see the panic in his face.
"They're WHAT?" John yelled, concerned, scared, there were numerous emotions that he himself couldn't distinguish. He stormed out the room with Justin right on his tail, Justin was already carrying his bag, he was prepared for whatever action they got into. "What are we going to do?" Justin asked, his voice shaking as they went down the flight of stairs. "We're gonna find where ever they went, and kill them." John replied, joking yet looking very serious. 'He is just concerned, right?' Justin thought to himself as they exited the hotel. They examined the outside world, breathing in the fresh air as they investigated any trail their friends had left. John's eyes fell on the same town they went into, a crowd was formed outside the same house once again. John jogged towards it, Justin followed through. A distressed female voice cried out, the words weren't distinct enough to understand. Once John and Justin finally got there, the sentence finally became clear.
"My baby is missing!"
John sat down on the ground, a few feet away from the confused yet angered crowd. Justin read the confusion on John's face, he squatted beside him, trying to comfort him. "Hey, what you thinking in that brain of yours?" Justin asked, he could see John's stressed thinking through his eyes alone. "The baby was taken by Hans." John replied. "Yeah, I know." Justin informed. "Congratulations, you have a brain!" John yelled, stuffed with as much as sarcasm a man can make. Justin's face twitched, his friend's remark had hurt. "Hey, I'm just trying to help, you know? I'm your friend as well." Justin said quietly, John had barely heard it. "Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just really stressed and worried. Hans had probably taken them, what if they're..." John interrupted himself, trying not to spiral deeper into a rabbit hole. Justin tried to calm him, tell him it's all going to be okay, but then, a commotion happened. The woman who gave birth to the missing baby had the chance to grab a knife, she put the knife down onto her waist, and then raised it up towards her own neck. John couldn't believe what he was seeing, his chest tightened, barely being able to breath, was the mother going to kill herself? Was the pain of missing the child that she went through hell to raise too much? Was it because she blamed herself for being too careless? Whatever it was, John thought it was too late to know. Justin already turned around, not wanting to see any tragic event so early in the morning. With the knife barely an inch into her skull, a nearby man dove into her, successfully preventing a tragic suicide. John was relieved, normal breathes heaved in and out from his lungs, the day got a little bit more better, aside from their missing friends of course. "We will get to the bottom of this." John exclaimed, shocking himself, it was like he wasn't even doing it himself. He was already standing, not noticing how or why he wanted to risk their lives finding the child. "John, what are you doing?" Justin whispered harshly from behind, trying not to look aggressive or untrustworthy. "Why do you want to find the baby?" A man from the crowd yelled, confused. "Because our friends were taken by the same man; Hans."
