All that they could find scattered on the ground in the messy, already dying fort were a couple of rusty pipes and a wooden plank, weapons that weren't really reliable if you wanted to go through hordes of the undead. "Are you sure we should go? Like, right now?" John asked Kyle, the most eager one out of all of them to fight. "If we wait until we're ready..." Kyle drifted off, "Then we'll be waiting our entire lives." Justin continued, surprising Kyle. "I watch that show too, don't think you're so unique." Justin added, along with a chuckle. They walked into the hotel, brushing off the panicked people running for their lives, the poor souls didn't know what to do. They swung open the door, the fresh scent of rotting corpses and old blood filled their nose, Kyle would've thrown up if he hadn't been so determined to fight, for her. "Where do you think they are?" Kyle asked the two, feeling lost as he inspected the first floor of the building. "Most likely the rooftop, I remember Hans mentioning a helicopter I think." Justin replied, happy to finally answer a question and be useful to the plot. "Well then, let's go beat up the Radio-man shall we?" John asked, bowing in a gentle manner to make the others chuckle. "Be my guest." Kyle replied in a deep tone, eager to climb up the next few flight of stairs. They went towards the staircase, dodging the dead receptionist lying on the floor who had been shot in the head, then proceeded to go up. Growls and moaning got closer as they ventured upwards, they needed a plan to ward off the zombies. The only entrance to the rooftop was the last staircase after the 4th floor, which meant that a horde of zombies were waiting for them to climb upstairs. "What's our plan? We can literally be torn apart if we decide to go there Rambo-style." John informed, anxious about what might happen if they were too late. "Well, obviously we don't have much time, so it has to be a quick plan." Kyle replied, "Wow, thank you for that informative input, Einstein." John said in a sarcastic tone. "Look, I know you're stressed, but so am I. Our friend literally turned into a zombie earlier, do you think I can handle any more if one more of us dies?" Kyle reminded, trying not to burst in any more tears.

"What are we going to do?" Justin asked, still waiting for a viable option. "The zombies are reliant on three senses; sight, touch, and hearing. I say we cut off the lights and then we try and draw their attention somewhere else so we could sneak up to the roof." John suggested, surprising Kyle since it actually might work. "Sounds good to me." Kyle replied, happy that they had a plan. "Justin, you go and shut off the lights, I think I saw a room filled with switches behind the receptionist's desk." John added, as serious as a bone going through skin. "Okay, okay." Justin said as he started to go downstairs.

It had been several minutes since Justin was gone.
"Should we be concerned about how our friend could possibly been killed?" Kyle asked John, "No, he's fine. He's one of the strongest out of the four of us." John replied, trying to calm his friend.
"Excuse me? Are you saying that Arkin is the weakest?" Kyle frowned.
"No, no. I mean, we're all strong, but we're not all that equally strong, you get it?" John reassured, trying not to worsen the conversation.
"Yeah, sure." Kyle said, looking down on the stairs.

"So... how did you and her meet?" John asked, it had been several more minutes of awkwardness, John just wanted to break the silence.
"In school, we have a pretty epic love story." Kyle chuckled, flashbacking to the past, missing the old days where they didn't have much problems.
"Oh yeah? What's so epic about it?" John asked, curious to know more.
"Well, I mean she had a toxic boyfriend, and I had a crush on her." Kyle said, remembering the pain he went through trying to suppress his feelings.
"I basically just showed her that I could care for her and treat her better, and eventually, she left him, and then we started dating." He added, happy to finally share what was the highlight of his life.
"So, basically be nice and you'll find and stay in love?" John concluded, trying to find what lesson to take from it.
"No, no, no. You don't get things by being nice, the world's too messed up for that" Kyle said, trying to correct John.
"So what should I do?" John asked.
"You care for her, when you know you have a chance, when you FEEL that you have a chance, never give up on her. Love isn't easy, you will fight, you will bicker, you may be even close to breaking up. But if you really love her, you'll stay no matter what." Kyle said, trying to give advice.
Then the lights went out, pure pitch black was all they could see.
"Well then, that cheeky bugger finally managed to find the power supply." Kyle grinned, their plan was finally in action. They were waiting for Justin to get back to them when they heard a yell from the rooftop, it was so loud that if there weren't concrete floors separating them, it would've deafened them.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE HELICOPTER WILL BE DELAYED DUE TO THE LIGHTS BEING CUT OFF?" Hans, obviously Hans, yelled from above. A few moments of silence passed, presumably someone was replying to Hans' outrage. Then a gunshot followed.
