Lettie lets out a low groan as she rolls over in bed, expecting to find Jj beside her. He had snuck in her window after the fire last night. But, she finds nothing, just cold sheets and a yellow sticky note on her empty, white pillowcase. Lettie furrows her brows as she plucks it off of the fabric, recognizing Jj's messy handwriting.

Went to John B's. Sleep well, pretty girl. - J.

Smiling at the note, Lettie places it on the table beside her before crawling out of bed. Today is her first shift at the Wreck since the hurricane, but that isn't until the afternoon. So, she checks the swell reports around the island, hoping for something to kill her time, but she's skunked. The brunette groans, throwing herself back onto the bed.

"Scarlett?" She hears David call from the living room. Getting up, Lettie follows his voice. As she enters the room, her step dad grins, "Morning, sleeping beauty. You in the mood to help me clean off the yard?"

Lettie shrugs, "I guess, I work today though."

"Well lucky for you Mr. Cline cleared the trees out yesterday, it's just a bunch of branches, shouldn't even take an hour."

"Alright, let me change."

So, Lettie heads back to her room and pulls on her work shirt and a pair of shorts and her vans. She throws her hair into a ponytail and grabs her speaker, meeting David by the door. The pair heads outside and Lettie puts on a playlist called, Songs from David's Childhood, which is compiled of a bunch of classic rock and old country. A lot of the songs David taught Lettie to play on the guitar when she was younger.

Sure enough, after an hour the yard is clear, and now Lettie only has a couple hours to kill before her shift. She's about to head inside when she spots John B's surfboard leaning against the family's shed. Lettie hadn't returned it after they surfed the surge, she smirks to herself, heading to the chateau would kill time. So, she heads inside, grabs her car keys, yells to her mom where she's going and straps the board to the top of the bug before hitting the road.

When Lettie rolls up, she quickly leans the board on the house and heads up to the Porch, all she can hear is Jj talking loudly and the rooster calling in the distance, "Bam, bam, bam! Knocking paint off the walls, G! From the inside! Alright? And I'm just looking at him like-" Lettie steps into view of her friends as Jj leans over by Pope, shaking his hair out, she furrows her brows and gives a questioning look to Kie, who shrugs, "Look at all that! Alright? That's paint! At that point, I was just like... I'm waiting for death!"Jj turns around, spotting Lettie and jumping, he puts a hand over his chest before he points at her, "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

"Why are you freaking out?" Lettie calmly asks, trying not to laugh at her boyfriend's dramatic reaction.

"He and John B saw the guys that shot at us yesterday," Pope shortly explains.

Lettie raises her brows, looking between John B and Jj, "Really? Were they here?"

John B shakes his head, "No. Ms. Lana's."

Pope fixes his gaze back on Jj, "Did you get a good description of them? What did they look like?"

"Yeah, anything, anything is helpful," Kiara adds as Pope says, "Anything we can bring and put into a police report, maybe?"

Jj gazes off of the porch, a short silence falling over the group before Jj utters, "Burly."

Another pause, "Burly?" Pope echoes, his voice full of disbelief. Lettie doesn't know the word in english, she'll have to ask her brainiac friend about it later.
