Lettie woke up early in the morning, throwing on a one piece bathing suit, a loose t shirt and a pair of shorts and going outside to check the damage. Luckily, the worst Agatha did was knock over a few trees in the front yard. She and David would have it taken care of in a day. The brunette moves to the driveway, seeing a few branches had tumbled onto the bug and onto the path, but nothing too bad. Lettie easily throws all the branches to the side, finishing up just as her mom and Donny come outside.
"Donny!" She cheers, the sun shining down on her, "Look! You made Aggie leave us alone!"
The boy grins, grabbing one of the branches Lettie had thrown to the side and holding it up as if it were a sword.
"Oh, you're on, Squish!" Lettie exclaims, picking up a thick branch herself, making Donavan laugh as she starts to chase him around the yard, yelling things about how he can't escape her forever, and that she'd catch him eventually, his giggles fuelling her.
After a few minutes, Lettie stops running, faking exhaustion. Donny takes advantage lightly hitting her legs with the branch he was clutching. Lettie lets out an over dramatic yell, falling to her knees, then leaning backwards and collapsing on the damp grass.
"I won! Maman! Regarde! (Mom! Look!)" Donavan yells, triumphantly. Lettie feels nothing but love swelling in her chest for her baby brother. She hears her mom yell something as she stands, affectionately ruffling Donny's hair and pressing an obnoxious smootch to the top of his head before walking to the porch, where her mother sits, sipping coffee.
"I'm gonna go meet my friends at the Marina, est-ce que cela te va? (Is that okay with you?)" Lettie asks, taking a seat beside the older, blonde woman.
Lynette nods, "Bien sûr. Demandez à Jj et à vos amis s'ils veulent venir dîner ce soir.. (Of course. Ask Jj and your friends if they wants to come over for dinner tonight.)"
With a grin, Lettie kisses her mother's cheek, "I will! Merci, Maman," She chirps, standing to her feet and heading inside to pack her backpack. Her house, which had a backup generator, was cool, and her family is more than willing to provide shelter for her friends. Now, Lettie is definitely not a kook. Her home is just barely in figure eight territory, dangerously close to the cut. It isn't anything extravagant, a simple one story home close to the beach. David is the principal of Kildare County High School, and her mom works part time at a beauty parlour on figure eight. So, their income is okay. The middle class barely exists in the Outer Banks, but her family fits into it. Her parents saved up and bought a generator right away, knowing storm season would require one.
Lettie grabs her favourite backpack from her room and throws in two towels, knowing Jj will forget his, a spare t shirt, some water, sunglasses, her speaker, and she sneaks a couple beers too. She packs a few other essentials before slipping on her vans, ready to go.
"Scarlett," David says as she re enters the kitchen, moving to the door, she turns to him to see a travel mug in his hands, he had made her a coffee to take with her.
Lettie grins at him, "You're incroyable (Incredible)!" Lettie exclaims, taking the mug from him, "See you later!"
The brunette practically skips outside to her car, placing her bag in the passenger's seat and starting the engine. She backs out of the driveway and starts the short drive to the marina, basically downing her coffee as she does so.
She easily finds an empty parking space once she arrives, so, with her backpack on, Lettie sets off down the dock, taking in the damage that Agatha had caused. She sees a familiar lady at the end of it, trying to clear some of the debris.
