XVIII For The Better

"Are you sure you don't want to come home with us dear?" Tendou asked, his voice is filled with concern.

Everyone has their eyes set on you with the look of curiosity and confusion except for Ushijima who went on ahead inside the school bus. Today is the day the team is suppose to go home in Miyagi but you decided to stay longer in Tokyo. Ever since that night, the two of you hadn't talked and has been avoiding each other which really pains you. He's so near yet so far.'

You hugged the red head for assurance. "I'll be fine Tendou, and I don't want to put you all in an awkward situation; for sure he's still mad at me."

He let out a sigh. "Fine~" then he broke out of the hug.

"At least text us from time to time okay?" Reon said.

"Yes mom!"

"I'm going to miss you princess-sama!" Goshiki said tapping your shoulders lightly as if asking for a hug and you gladly gave him one.

You look around only to see the emotional Shiratorizawa boys encircled around you. Even the ever salty Shirabu looks a bit upset and it didn't make you feel any better. God these giants! They're making me cry again. But as soon as you felt like you're tearing up already, you fake a laugh.

"I'll catch up with you guys tomorrow, don't be too sad!" you said.

"But you'll be alone here, are you going to cry again? It isn't your fault that we lost [Y/N]-chan." Semi said. "Please know that, and stop blaming yourself."

You were stunned to hear what Semi has said; It really hit the right button for you to cry spot on. "I'm sorry Semisemi." was all you could answer.

The look on their faces now are mixed with pity and worry but you tried to show them you're strong by wiping your own tears away and flashed them a wide smile. "Get you asses on the bus, or coach will me mad." you commanded. "See you in Miyagi!"

Judging by the look on your face they didn't want to leave you yet but the demon coach has yelled at them already making you all flinched in fear and so they went inside the bus one by one.

"Calm your mind and talk to him when you're ready okay?" Tendou whispered as he gave you another hug. "He isn't perfect after all. He may had said that but I'm sure he didn't mean that. Or maybe his mind made him said those words to you but not his heart."

You look at Tendou confused. He knows?

He chuckled. "I kinda followed you that night at the rooftop and accidentally heared everything dear; I'm so sorry." he said.

You buried your face at his chest as you reminisced what happened on that said night.

"I can't be friends with you anymore."

"I can't be with your side anymore [Y/N]."

"Please don't take volleyball away from me."

"Let me go."

Tears started streaming down your cheeks again but Tendou was quick to wipe them all off. "Everything will be alright dear, it'll pass." he assured you.

Finally letting go of his embrace you muttered "Thank you Satori." which made him flinched a little in surprise but showed you a weak smile after; before finally entering the school bus.

When he hopped inside the bus you took a glance at the window further away from where you were standing. An image of a stoic man with an olive brown hair was sitting stiffly can be seen. His stares are nowhere near your existence but you smile dat him anyway and mouthed "Take care" before the bus has finally left out of your sight.
