A/N: Sorry for the wait, y'all! Among other things, I recently moved out, so I've been getting settled and unpacking and such. With everything else happening as well, there just hasn't been much motivation to write. However, I did get this chapter written today so up it goes! See y'all in the next chapter (whenever that is)!
"Wait, so you and Draco are dating for real now?!" Ginny's eyes were wide as she took a long sip from her iced coffee. Hermione sat across from her, the cozy atmosphere of the small cafe doing nothing to ease her embarrassment as she faced Ginny's interrogation.
"Yes," Hermione replied, wishing the redness in her cheeks would die down. "For about a week now. We went on our first date last Saturday."
"Tell me everything, now! I mean, I totally saw this coming, but still! Details!" Ginny sat forward in her chair, arms resting on the table in front of her, and Hermione sat back some, taking a drink of her coffee. She was glad the cafe was mostly empty. The other patrons looked their way once or twice when Ginny got too excited, but they mostly minded their own business.
Hermione set her cup back down and sighed. "Alright, let's see. Um, he came over Saturday afternoon to pick me up for dinner with his parents, except we didn't actually make it to the dinner with his parents part. We went for a walk at the park and then ate at this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant we stumbled across. Then we went back to my flat to talk and eat ice cream." Hermione smiled fondly. "It was really nice."
"Aww," Ginny sighed wistfully. "You two are adorable." She frowned suddenly. "Make sure he knows I'll kick his ass if anything happens to you, yeah? Actually, I'll just tell him myself. When are you supposed to see him next?"
Hermione laughed. "I appreciate the sentiment, Gin, but please don't murder my boyfriend."
"But if he ever does something that makes him not your boyfriend, I can murder him?" Ginny looked a little too happy with the prospect of murder, so Hermione decided to shut it down as quickly as she could.
"No. Please don't get yourself arrested. And what happened to us being adorable?"
"Oh, you guys definitely are, but that won't be enough for him to escape if he hurts you," Ginny said brightly. "Just saying." She paused. "And what's this about getting arrested? You don't have any faith in my ability to get away with murder at all!"
Hermione couldn't help smiling as she shook her head teasingly at her redheaded friend. "You are entirely too violent sometimes."
"I know! Now when are you supposed to see Draco next?"
There was no escape. 'Sorry, Draco,' Hermione thought. "He's picking me up at six. We actually are having dinner with his parents tonight."
"Perfect!" Ginny grinned. "I'll be there at five thirty then."
Hermione didn't argue. She just finished her coffee and settled the bill. On her way out, she smiled at Ginny as the other girl got her things together as well. "I guess I'll see you this evening then."

Sure enough, Ginny was over at five thirty. She sat on the couch in Hermione's living room while Hermione finished getting ready for dinner with the Malfoys. Once Hermione came out in dress slacks and a blouse, Ginny looked her over and smiled. "You look nice, 'Mione!"
"Thanks," Hermione said with a relieved smile of her own. She'd gone through most of her closet before settling on the outfit, more anxious than she wanted to let on. "I don't know why this dinner has me so frazzled, but--"
"You like him," Ginny said simply. "And even though his mom already likes you, the two of you are formally dating now." She got up to hug the brunette. "It's okay to be nervous, Hermione, but remember that they have every reason to like you. Plus, even I could tell how smitten Draco was, and that was back at Yule!"
Hermione hugged Ginny back tightly. "Thanks, Gin... Wait, since Yule!"
Ginny laughed, but there was a knock at the door before Hermione could press her for any more information. "Better answer the door, Hermione. It's probably your boyfriend!"
Hermione stuck her tongue out at the younger girl before opening the door to reveal a nervous Draco holding a rose.
"I, uh," Draco smiled at her before noticing Ginny in the living room. "I didn't know Ginny was over. Are you ready to go?"
"Yep, just a sec." Hermione opened the door a little more, stepping aside. "Come on in. Ginny won't let us leave until she talks to you." Ginny grinned triumphantly. "I'll just grab my coat while you two talk."
As Hermione escaped to her bedroom, she heard Ginny start in on her threats. The redhead was certainly scary and, if Draco's expression when she came back only a minute later was any indication, quite effective.
"Have fun, you two!" Ginny called, letting herself out of the apartment. She gave a friendly glare to the former Slytherin and clicked the door shut.
Draco regained his composure and offered a small smile to Hermione. "Ready to go?"
"Yeah," Hermione ignored the nervous butterflies in her stomach as she took Draco's offered hand, "Let's go!"
