Akyla POV

I stood there looking terrified while everyone was walking away. Soon I walked off and went to the bonfire. Everyone was cheering and howling and laughing. I seen Rayna sitting by a log. I walked over to sit with her. "So how was your first day actually out of the pit greenie." Akyla just sat there. "Hey, put some confident in your soul." Rayna handed me a bottle of yellow liquid. I took the bottle than drank some. I immediately spat it out. I started to choke and cough while Rayna was laughing. After I had cleared my throat I laughed some to. What the hell is that? "Umm... I don't know." They both started cracking up. "It's Gally's recipe" she pointed at the guy with the weird eyebrows. So that's his name huh! He's still an asshole. "He saved your life today. Trust me the maze is a dangerous place."
Akyla listened as the maze was making noises. We're trapped here aren't we?  Rayna looked down and smiled. "Well see, me, Malaya, Mihno, and Thomas are runners. We go into that maze every morning when the walls open and we track down every piece of the maze. And that guy in the middle is Thomas. He's the keeper of the runners."  How long have you guys been looking?  "Three years!"  All the hope I had was slowly leaving my body. An-An-and you guys  haven't found anything?  Rayna smiled.  "It's a lot easier said then done!"  There was silence while Rayna took another sip of gally's recipe and I listened to the noise coming from the maze. "You hear that?"  I slowly nodded.  "It's the maze changing!"  I gave out a look of confusion.  "See, it changes every night". How is that even possible? Rayna laughed.  "Well your going to have to ask the dirty bastards who put us in here."  The two of them exchanged looks.  "The truth is the other runners and I are the only ones who know what's inside that maze, and that's a good thing because we're the strongest and the fastest. And if we don't get back before those doors close then we're stuck in there for a night."  I felt as if Rayna was looking through my soul.  "And no ones ever survived a night in the maze."  I felt fear taking over my body but also curiosity.  Wh-wh-what happens to them? There was silence and Rayna took another sip of the drink.  "We call them grieves". Rayna spoke without looking my way. Finally she looked at me and spoke.  "But of course no ones ever see one or lived to tell about it. But they're out there!"  Rayna's mouth opened as she was about to say something but got interrupted by somebody kissing her on her forehead. She looked up and laughed  "Newt, what are you doing?"  "C'mon babe lets go to bed!" The guy had said whining.  Rayna laughed while taking the drink out of his hand.  "Yeah you've been drinking too much of this" she said smiling. Rayna looked back down at Akyla then smiled trying to hold back her laughter because Newt was kissing her all over.  "Alrighty greenie I guess that's enough questions for the day. Go have fun your supposed to be the guest of honor."  Newt looked over at me then smiled. "Yeah go have fun". I laughed at his silliness then watched as he threw Rayna over his shoulder and walked off. I took a sip of Rayna's drink and then sat up and began walking off , but as I did I bumped into someone. I looked up and seen Malaya with her mouth hanging open because of the drink I spilled all over her.  Oh I'm so so sorry! It's was an accident. She closed her mouth then smiled. "It's okay."  I sighed in relief that she wasn't going to try to fight me or anything.  "Your the new greenie right?"  I nodded. Y-y-yeah.  "So you still didn't get your name yet right?  N-No  "Trust me it'll come back to you!"  We both started walking and she pointed to a group of people.  "Those are the builders, they're great with their hands but not with they're ears."  We both laughed.  She pointed to Gally who was at the moment play fighting with Thomas.  "My boyfriend Gally, well he's the keeper of the builders."  "And this is Jeff." She  said as she high-fives a brown skin boy with a cute smile. "He's sort of the Doctor here."  "And Newt and Chuck are the gardeners. They grow the fruit and vegetables and things and I forgot to tell you about Siggy. Siggy is the cook but everyone calls him Frypan. So pick your group which group do you want to be in?"  Akyla looked over at Mihno. What if I said I wanted to be a runner?  Malaya looked at me with squinted eyes.  "Listen here no one wants to be a runner! It's Dangerous!"  Your a runner!  "Yeah I know but that's not the point. And besides you get chosen to be a runner."  B-By wh-  I got interrupted by falling to the ground with a hard hit going to my head. It was blurry until I opened my eyes and seen Thomas on top of me with a concern look. I guess he fell on top of me while him and Gally was fighting. He started waving his hand in front of my face. Then I heard his muffled voice. "How many fingers am I holding up?" I ignored his question and rubbed my head. Akyla I whispered. Thomas looked at his fingers with a confused face. "N-No it's three, JEFF WE NEED YOU OVER HERE". No no no I sat up and yelled. AKYLA! MY NAME IS AKYLA! I KNOW MY NAME!! It was a short moment of silence till Malaya yelled out. "AKYLA WHOOO" Everyone cheered and yelled out Akyla. I looked up at Thomas and kissed him on the cheek, Thank you! He looked at me and blushed while laughing and scratching the back back of his neck.  "Y-y-you welcome"
