~8~ Number Seven

Akyla POV

I followed Thomas as he walked off. Do you know her? "No!" Are you sure? "Positive!" He grabbed my hand as he walked into his room. We both sat on the bed then Thomas looked at me. "The dreams right?" Uh Huh I said not knowing where he was going with this conversation. "I seen her, she was in my dream! Her, you, and the lady that kept on saying wicked is good." I thought hard then realized I seen her too. Y-yeah so have I". He stood up and paced around the room. "C'mon we have to go talk to her!" She's sleep remember?  He grabbed my hand then lead me out of the room. Once we walked out we followed Newt, Rayna, Mihno and Malaya into the homestead where they held Alby, and the girl. 

Newt POV

While me, Rayna, Mihno and Malaya was walking into the homestead Thomas and Akyla tagged along. We walked in and we passed the room Alby was in and he looked horrible. He was sleep and pale. We walked further in and we seen Jeff.  Hey Jeff what's going on why is she still sleep? I said looking down at the girl. Jeff shrugged. "Listen I'm trying to do my job but I can't help her if I don't even know what's going on." Me, Mihno, Akyla, Malaya, and Rayna looked at each other then we turned our heads to Thomas.  Do you know her?  Thomas shook his head no then placed his attention back onto the girl.  Really? Because she sure seemed to know you!  Me and Mihno exchanged looks knowing that their was something deeper to it.  "Wh-what about the note" Akyla said clearly confused by it.  "We have enough to deal with"  Malaya said pointing to the girl.  "But she's right! If the box doesn't come back up how long do you think we can last? No food? No supplies? "  Jeff said agreeing to Akyla. Rayna stood up from the seat she was sitting in then spoke up.  "No one said that! Maybe it's just the last person, n-n-not the last of food and supplies. So let's not jump to any conclusions! So we're gonna just wait till she wake up because she might have answers okay?"  Everyone nodded the Akyla whispered something under her breath. We all looked at each other, "HUH!"  "Answers"  she said walking out of the homestead. Everyone followed close behind her.  "Where are you going"  Thomas asked picking up the pace.  "Back into the maze!"  Everyone stopped in their tracks. We all looked at each other then at Thomas signaling him to go talk to her. Thomas nodded then ran after Akyla.

Thomas POV

Once I made it to Akyla I hurried up and jogged in front of her stopping her from walking.  Are you trying to get yourself killed? You just got out and know you want back in!  Akyla finally locked eyes with me. "Listen you all say no ones ever seen a griever or lived to tell about one, but know we have! And your telling me your not at all a little bit curious."  No not really!  I said still looking at her confused. She softly laughed then continued to walk. I stopped her and sighed. So what's the plan? You gonna go and dissect that thing all by yourself?  "I will if I have to! Are the other runners up for it?"  She said looking confident.  Newt and Gally won't let Malaya and Rayna continue after what happened so it's just Mihno and us. "I think it's time to find out what we're really up against!"  She said with a smirk on her face.  I sighed then nodded my head.  Fine!  A smile crept up onto her face.  But your not going out there alone meet me at my room in half an hour. She nodded her head telling me she understood and then I walked off.

Half hour later__________________

Akyla POV

While I was waiting for Thomas I seen him walking towards his room where I was standing with Frypan, Mihno, and another glader named Winston. "Will this be enough?" I nodded with a big smile on my face then hugged Thomas.

We ran into the maze retracing our footsteps from last time. Once we made it to the smushed griever we all stopped. "That's disgusting!" Frypan said with a disgusted look on his face. "There's something inside of it" Mihno had said. We all looked closer and seen a red light flashing. Thomas reaches his hand into the griever ready to pull the light out until the robotic leg moves. We all jumped back while Thomas fell to the ground. He stood back on his feet not taking his eyes off of the griever. "I thought you guys said it was dead!" Winston said still trying to catch his breath. We thought it was" I said still in shock. Thomas took some steps back not wanting to stick his hand back in there. Mihno stepped up then stuck his hand in there. He grabbed ahold of the thing that was inside of the griever and pulled it out. He wiped the goo off of it then analyzed it. It was a robotic thing the had a flashing red light on the side of it and it had the number seven on it. But the one thing that Thomas and I both realized was that it read WICKED.

Nobody POV

Once Akyla and the others made it back to the glade they showed it to Rayna. "We found this inside of the griever" Akyla said as she showed Rayna the object. Newt came behind Rayna and looked over her shoulder. "These are the same letters we get on our supplies" Newt said tracing his finger over the word Wicked. Akyla and Thomas exchanged looks. "Whoever put us here obviously made the grievers!" Mihno said while he looked at Rayna. Akyla walked in front of Rayna, "this is the first real clue that you guys have found during three whole years right Thomas?" Thomas nodded agreeing with Akyla. "Rayna we have to go back out there! Who knows where this might lead us" Akyla said as curiosity swayed through her body. "You see what she's trying to do right?" Gally said clearly not agreeing with Akyla. "First she breaks our rules then she tries to have us abandon them totally! The rules are the only thing that has held us together why now are we questioning that." Gally said still disagreeing. Mihno scoffed as he was getting tired of Gally. "If Alby was here you know he'll agree with me! This shank needs to be punished." Gally stares at Rayna wanting her to give in. Rayna looked at Akyla knowing that Gally was right she did break a rule. She is not a runner so she's not supposed to be going into the maze, but she also knew that Akyla was right. This is the first clue and if we wanted to escape this place we would have to keep going deeper into the maze. So that only met one thing. She broke eye contact with Akyla the looked at Gally. "Your right she must be punished." Gally smiled while everyone else disagreed. "One night in the pit with no food or water." "C'MON RAYNA THAT CANT BE IT! SHE BROKE A RULE." Gally said wanting the punishment to be worst. "YOU THINK THATS GONNA TEACH HER A LESSON? YOU THINK THATS GONNA STOP HER FROM RUNNING RIGHT BACK IN?" "No! And I don't want to stop her, she's right. So starting tomorrow your a runner." Akyla smiled along with Thomas and Mihno. Gally scoffed and then walked out of the meeting room furious. Akyla looked at Rayna and smiled. "Thanks Rayna!" Rayna gave a soft smile and then walked out with Newt following close behind.
