~7~ It's a girl!

Thomas POV

Me and Akyla has split ways while we was running from a griever. I didn't see it yet but I heard it. The noise of the griever is just loud metallic legs hitting the ground of the maze. It growled louder then anything you ever heard and it left slime wherever it walked.

I kept running as fast as I could as I heard the griever's growls. As I turned a corner I bumped into Akyla. We both fell to the ground with a hard thud. I jumped up then helped her to her feet. THE WALLS SHOULD BE OPENING SOON!! I yelled so she can hear me through all the growls and the metal hitting the concrete. "YEAH BUT WE CANT RUN BACK YET BECAUSE THAT'LL JUST LEAD IT INTO THE GLADE!!" YOUR RIGHT WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO KEEP RUNNING UNTIL WE LOSE IT!! Me and Akyla turned a corner but it was a dead end. As we turned the back around we was face to face with the griever. This was my first time seeing it. It was ugly and slimy and it didn't just have metal legs it also had a metal tail. No one in the glade has ever seen a griever or lived to tell about it. Fear shivered through me but I soon got knocked out of my thoughts when The griever threw its tail our way trying to grab us. I ducked as the tail was coming to my face. I grabbed Akyla's hand and we crawled up the vines. We was now on top of the maze running. The griever made its way up and got back to chasing us. We made it to a big jump that will take us to another side. We both stopped but then looked back at the griever. Akyla looked at me then ran towards the griever. AKYLA WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! She turned back this way then ran and jumped. She made it to the other side but with a hard thud on the ground. She stood to her feet then shouted back to me. "C'MON THOMAS JUMP!!" I did exactly what she did but when I jumped the griever reached out to my foot. It grabbed a hold off my foot and started to fall down. I began to fall down with the griever but Akyla grabbed me. The griever kept falling but Akyla held onto me. She pulled me up then we looked down and the griever jumped back up. We kept running until we seen these two walls about to shut. We both looked at each other. I ran through and once I got to the other side I realized Akyla didn't run with me. AKYLA WHAT ARE YOU DOING C'MON!! She stood there letting the griever get closer and closer and letting the space between the walls get smaller and smaller. Once the griever was close to her she started to run through the walls. She made it through and the griever got smushed between the walls.

Mihno POV

I woke up and seen Malaya standing by the wall looking at me. I jumped up then rubbed the back of my neck.  Why are you up?  "I'm up because I know by the time I usually wake up you'll be in the maze by then. Mihno why the fuck would you do that! You know I date Gally! Your my best friend it's just I-I-"  I know Malaya I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me!  We looked at each other then I reached my hands out so she can hug me. She walked over and hugged me. She pulled away from the hug then was about to walk out. How Newt doing?  "He's sitting by the walls waiting for them to open!"  I sighed then stood up. We walked out of my room and split ways. I walked towards Newt. Come on Newt, you should go bathe and then eat! "Alby wanted me to tell you that you guys won't be going in the maze today" Oaky but you really do need to ge- I got cut off by the walls of the maze opening. Newt stood to his feet looking inpatient. Everyone ran up to the maze looking with hope. None of us seen anything and people started to slowly walk off with sadness covering their faces. It was now just me, Newt, Chuck, Gally, Malaya, Jeff, and Frypan. "I told you they wouldn't make it" Gally had said. Him and Malaya started to slowly walk off. Chuck wiped his tears then ran after Malaya. Frypan, and Jeff said sorry to Newt then started to walk off as well. When I turned around I heard Newt break down. I turned back around and sat down next to him. He held his face in his hands while I tried my best to comfort him. As I looked back up I seen three figures walking out way. As the sight got clearer I realized it was Rayna, Thomas's, and Akyla walking our way. I tried to speak but no words was coming out. I tapped Newt till he lifted his head up. He stood to his feet then ran and lifted Rayna off of her feet. Everyone started to run back over. I ran to Akyla while Malaya ran to Thomas. I hugged Akyla then me and Malaya switched. I hugged Thomas then ran to Newt and Rayna giving Rayna a hug as well. "Did you guys see a griever". Chuck said with happiness now covering his face. Thomas and Akyla looked at each other. Then Thomas spoke up. "Yeah we seen one alright......and she killed it!" Everyone looked at Akyla with shocked faces.

Rayna POV

So Jeff has just got done giving my head a check up and now we had sit and listen to Gally's speech. Alby should be the one giving the speech but he ended up getting stung while me, Akyla, and Thomas was in the maze. So since I'm second in charge I should really be the one giving the speech but Gally asked me could he do I just let him. Everyone sat around Gally and waited for him to talk. "Things are changing, and there's no denying that. First Ben gets stung in broad daylight and then Alby. And know our greeney here has taking it among herself to go into the maze." Gally said as he looked at Akyla with a stern face. "Which is clear violation of our rules here" he continued. Yeah but she saved my life I said speaking up. He looked at me then shook his head no. "For three years we have co existent with these things, and know you've killed one of them" he said pointing to Akyla. "Who knows what that could mean for us". I looked at him with a confused face. So what do you suggest we do? "She has to be punished." Everyone started yelling out that they disagreed. I looked over to Mihno and seen him standing there. Thomas you were out there with him, what do you think? I said asking Thomas. Thomas looked at Akyla then opened up his mouth. "I think that all this time we've been here no one has ever killed a griever. She came up with the idea to smash the griever in between the walls and she also made sure we wouldn't lead the griever into the glade so she sort of saved all of you..... Know listen I don't know if she's brave or stupid but whatever it is we need more of it. I say we make her a runner!" Akyla looked up happy. Ever since she got here she wanted to be a runner. Everyone started to shout again some disagreeing and some agreeing. I sat up and smiled liking the idea. Gally stood up clearly not liking that idea. "Listen if you guys want to give the newbie a parade then go ahead but if there is one thing I know about the maze it is that you do not-" He got cut off by the box coming up. Everyone ran towards the box waiting to see who the next person is. Newt jumped in the box then lifted his head back up. "It's a girl!"  She was not awake, you couldn't tell if she was dead or just sleeping. I looked closer then seen something in her hand.  What's in her hand?  I said wanting Newt to grab it and look. Newt slowly pulled the piece of paper out of her hand then opened it and read it. "She's the last one, ever!"  Everyone's face changed into confusion and fear. "What the hell does that mean"  Newt said also confused. The girl woke up frightening everyone, then she spoke.   "Thomas"  she said in between deep breaths and then passed out again. Everyone's head moved to Thomas. The thing was Thomas looked confused as much as everyone else was.  "Still think I'm over reacting"  Gally said while still looking at the girl. Thomas blinked a couple of times then walked off with Akyla following him.
