It had been a few days since the girls had last contacted Jay.

“She should be familiarizing herself with her new home now.” Hedda said to Caitlin as she dialed. The phone rang for a few seconds then went to voicemail.

“Hmm that’s weird.” Caitlin said holding the phone out hitting the end button several times.

“What?” Hedda asked moving closer.

“She didn’t answer.”

“Oh god something’s wrong!” Bella said biting at her nails. She moved from the floor and squeezed between Jessica and the couch arm rest.

“No doesn’t necessarily mean something’s wrong.” Hedda assured her.

“I don’t know maybe she’ll call back.” Caitlin said rising up from the couch. “Well I’m going to go finish writing that song.”

“I’ll help.” Hedda followed her to the bunk. Bella and Jessica looked at each other.

“I guess I’ll sit her and write another story. What are you going to do?” Bella asked. Jessica slumped down.

“I don’t know. Where’s the boys?”

“Hmmmm I think they had some meeting.”

“Oh.” She sighed a little then heard something from outside.

“Jeeeeesssicaahhh! Oh Jessssayyy wessssayyy!” Tre sang stepping on the bus. He quickly stepped in. “Jess! Nows a good time to go to the store! And do…” He looked at Bella with his smile fading. “and do and do.. that..um..” he cleared his throat. "and and.. uh..do the.." He lowered his head and whispered. “That top secret thing.”  He grinned. Jessica smiled and rose up.

“Yay!” They gave each other a high five.

“I heard that!” Bella said looking at him. He put his hand to the side of his mouth and rocked on his heels.

“Look at mister nosey over here.” Jessica smiled and nodded. Bella rolled her eyes.

“What are you getting at the store? 

“Oh you know Bellz.. stuff.”  Tre said.

“What kind of… stuff?” 

“Look Balls, I don’t have the time to sit and have tea right now so were going to go get .. uh.. candy.” He started to push Jessica toward the bus doors.

“You two don’t need candy!” she yelled as they stepped out.

“IT’S SUGAR FREE!” He yelled running across the parking lot.

“It’s bull larkey is what it is.” She said under her breath opening her note book.

-Later-

Bella was on the couch she had fell asleep, Hedda and Caitlin were on Hedda’s bunk working out some lyrics; Jessica and Tre had returned and they were messing with something on the counter by the sink. They had safety glasses on. Billie walked in. He noticed Tre and Jessica and laughed to himself. They saw him enter and just moved blocking Billie’s view of what they were doing. He walked up to them. Tre quickly covered a plate with a big dome cover. Billie squinted at them and each time he moved to see they would move to block. “Oh come on! What the hell are you two doing?”

“None of your concern.” Jessica said. Smiling. Tre grabbed up the plate and lid hugging it as if it were treasure then looked to Jessica.

“Come on Jess –“ he looked to Billie “Theres clearly spies amongst us.” He swung his finger around like a prissy girl, then swung his head around and walked to the bus doors. Jessica acted like she was going to bump heads with Billie. He jerked back and she smiled.
