Everyone was sitting around in Billie’s bus. Tre was telling Jessica a bit about drums and their history, which was a complete fairy tale that Tre made up right on the spot. Mike was teaching Hedda a few things on bass, While Billie and Bella were exchanging a few ideas about guitar. Caitlin stood by smiling watching. She was really happy that the boys were helping out and that everything seemed to fall perfectly in place. She was proud for standing up and being the ones to get them out of Northwood. She walked and sat on the other side of Billie.
“Hi.” He said glancing her way.
“hey.” She smiled. He looked to Bella and adjusted her fingers on the guitar.
“Ok this may be a bit easier for you. Go ahead and practice that a bit.” She started strumming he turned to Caitlin. “Do you need help with anything like lyrics or anything?” he asked.
“No, I’m ok.”
“Are you sure? Because I’d be happy to help.”
“I’m good.” She nodded.
“Alright. So what were you smiling about just a second ago?” She smiled and looked down for a second fiddling with her hands. She looked back to him.
“Just all of this… It’s just so awesome. Thank you, for all of this.” The girls looked up at her. They hadn’t seen her be so nice to anyone else in forever. Billie smiled.
“You're most certainly welcome.” He smiled and held his arms out for a hug. She rolled her eyes then gave in. They released and Billie was all smiles. “Aww Kate you’re so sweet.” He smiled teasing her.
“Yeah shut up. Don’t get to use to it.” She said turning her head. He smiled then continued helping Bella. She turned back and looked out the corner of her eye. She bit her jaw thinking, and then slowly turned reaching her hand up quietly. She smiled as she slowly got close to his hair. He swatted her hand away without looking back. “Damn.” She said under her breath. He just smiled. After about ten minutes Jessica followed Tre to his bus to get a pair of new drum sticks. Mike told Hedda to come to his bus so he could show her this book he had received when he was younger that had some great tips in it about being on stage and handling your bass guitar. She was also interested in seeing his collection. Bella and Caitlin were the only ones left with Billie.
“So can I take a look at your new lyrics since I didn’t have a chance to hear you guys live yesterday?” He asked looking toward Caitlin.
“Um... sure.” She walked to her bunk and picked up her notebook. She turned to the last few pages she had wrote on and handed it to him. He read, smiling every now and again. He looked at her.
“Wow Kate this is… is simply amazing.” He seemed a bit surprised as if it were better than he thought. She smiled.
“Aw thanks. Your lyrics aren’t that bad either.” She said taunting him. He smiled.
“You remind me so much of… well me.”
“I don’t know if that’s good or bad.” He smiled.
“Hell I don’t know either, I assume that it’s a good thing.”
“Yeah a lot of people do look up to you and love you.” Bella said looking down.
“Like you?” He said smiling. She blushed a bit and smiled.
“Pfff.. In your dreams.” She punched at his arm. “But I do hear people think that your pretty awesome and that you may have touched a few people’s hearts and make them a better person.” She said looking to the side.
“Oh really... That’s something that you’ve just randomly heard?” He smiled squinting his eyes. Bella was all smiles covering her mouth trying not to laugh.
