"You haven't seen our handshake!" Blaire said to Ash as they waited for people to enter the choir room." Blaine! Ash hasn't seen our handshake!"
Blaine chuckled and walked over to her. They did their handshake. They'd made it up when they were eight and they used to do it all the time. It was a long handshake. It started with a normal handshake, which went into a fist bump which went into a game of Rock Paper Scissors, then it went into a high five sequence and ended with a hip bump and a hug.
"Oh wow!" Ash chuckled. The twins laughed as they hugged and then other people began to walk in." How long did that take to learn?"
"Three hours. We were bored one day and made it." Blaire replied as they took their seats.
"All right, New Directions, big news!" Mr Schue said as he entered the room." As you all know, Vocal Adrenaline came in second last year at Nationals!"
"The only good thing to come out of that lost weekend." Finn said. Rachel elbowed him in the shoulder." Besides us getting back together!"
"Well, the boosters at Carmel don't donate tens of thousands of dollars every year to come in second. So they fired Dustin Goolsby." Mr Schue explained.
"So handsome." Artie mumbled.
"And they're having trouble hiring a new coach." Mr Schue announced." It seems that no one wants to take on that pressure cooker."
"That means they're vulnerable." Tina said.
"Yes. And if we work hard enough it means we can beat them." Mr Schue continued." Which is why I realised that, um...I can't direct the musical this year."
"Mr Schue you can't cancel the musical. My New York dreams depend on it." Rachel said.
"I'm not cancelling it I'm just not directing it." He said." My sole focus has to be in here. Nationals, Nationals, Nationals! And it's not just me who's gonna have to focus harder this year. I've been too easy on you. So everyday, after choir practice, I'm instituting a mandatory booty camp. So that we can work on our dancing. Now, it's not for all of you, just the people that I think need help like...
"Finn." Finn mumbled.
"How did you know? And Puckerman." Mr Schue continued." Hummel."
"I must protest!" Kurt said.
"You kinda have one move Kurt. It's like this..." Mike explained. He shimmied his shoulders." Sashay and its super distracting."
"Summers." Mr Schue said.
"Fair enough." Ash said with a shrug. Blaire chuckled.
"Jones." Mr Schue added.
"What?" Mercedes asked in disbelief.
"You told me once you were Beyoncé." Mr Schue began to explain. Mercedes looked offended." You don't think she spends extra time in the dance studio? Mike Chang has offered to be my assistant. And we start tomorrow and yes, Puckerman, it is mandatory."
"Mr Schuester, would you mind if I drop by for a little bit?" Blaine asked." I really need to catch up with you guys. Plus, Blaire was the one raised with ballet, jazz, tap, street, hip hop and gymnastics classes, not me so I'm not the best dancer."
"Okay, Mr Schue, I'm glad that you're so concerned with our special needs members but what about me? Okay, who's gonna direct the musical?" Rachel asked.
"God I can't believe you just said that that's so offensive and not everything is about you." Blaire snapped. Rachel glared at her and she rolled her eyes.
