An Ash centred chapter whoop!

Fourteen year old Ashton Summers entered school, his fringe almost covering his eyes, his sense of fashion hand me down band shirts from his older brother; who was a senior. He had an earphone in, Fall Out Boy blasting through it. Ash was a quiet boy who kept to himself mostly. He hadn't managed to make friends yet, but his brother sometimes let him hang out with his friends. Ash's older brother Chandler was a popular kid. But he hadn't always been, especially when he was in the glee club that got disbanded earlier that year.

A sophomore boy, named Kurt Hummel, was pushed by Dave Karofsky and Noah Puckerman yet again. The poor boy couldn't catch a break and Ash felt sorry for him.

"Hello, Ash." Miss Pillsbury said.

"Hi, Miss Pillsbury." Ash said with a smile, pulling out his earphones and stopping the music, shoving his MP3 player into his bag.

"Are you feeling better today?" Miss Pillsbury asked. Ash gave a nod." Good. I'm glad to hear that."

Ash had been seeing the guidance counsellor on certain days because he felt alone and sad. Ash's dad had left when he was a baby and something about it had always upset Ash. It made him feel like he wasn't good enough.

Miss Pillsbury went over to Kurt and Ash continued down the hall. His brother was stood by his locker, talking with his friends.

"I just...I don't want a girlfriend." Chandler chuckled.

"Are you hiding the fact that you're a homo, Summers?" His friend Will asked. Chandler rolled his eyes.

"No. I...I just don't see the point in a relationship. Just because you've slept with almost every girl in our grade and the grade below, doesn't mean I have to." He said. Ash smirked and continued walking past.

"How was school, bubba?" Mary asked as her sons walked into the house. Chandler went straight upstairs whilst Ash went into the kitchen.

"Boring." He replied, rummaging through the cupboards for something to eat." It's always boring. Nobody likes me and I've got better things to do."

"Well, you have to get an education. Plus, I'm sure people like you, Gray." Mary said as her son sat on the countertop." Down."

"Fine." Ash sighed, jumping down from the side, eating a packet of chips." I do have better things to do, though."

"Surely there's a club you can sign up for." Mary said, trying to move her sons fringe out of his eyes. It flopped back into place." You need a haircut."

"No I don't. Plus, all of the clubs suck." Ash said." There's nothing fun to do."

"You could try out for the football team?" Mary suggested.

"I get bullied by the football team. I'm the weird emo kid who sits at the back of the class quietly and who watches true crime documentaries in my spare time." Ash said." Plus, I'd suck at football."

"It's true. He would." Chandler said as he walked past the kitchen.

"Not cool, Franklin!" Mary snapped as her oldest left the house. She sighed and looked at Ash." There must be something you can do. Just please try and participate. Now, go do your homework before dinner."

Ash groaned and picked up his bag, walking off upstairs to his room. He closed his door and began to do his homework with his music playing.

The cafeteria was the worst place in the school. The movies didn't lie. Ash normally sat with some other kids who he didn't know, with his headphones in. But this one day, Ash overheard two kids talking about glee club. One was Kurt Hummel and the other was Rachel Berry. He knew who Rachel was because she posted a lot of videos of her singing on her MySpace.
