- The Past -
Marinette's POV"M'lady! Look out!" I turn to see my partner rushing towards me, blocking a stream of electricity from knocking me back.
This akuma was proving quite difficult, and that may or may not have to do with my finals and exams. According to Alya, I've been a zombie all week.
"Lucky charm!" I yelled as Chat continued to fight off Tok, leaving me with nothing but a capped pen that had just landed in my hands.
I looked around, quickly trying to determine a solution.
It was a bit difficult to see given that the sun was setting, but I knew the akuma was in the man's wristwatch. Now how could I...
My thoughts were cut off by a painful grunt as I noticed my partner falling behind, not able to keep up with the villain's pursuit.
This can wait, Chat can't.
I dropped the pen as I ran to Chat Noir's side, immediately attempting to place myself between him and Tok.
Seriously, though. What kind of name is Tok? Hawkmoth is really losing his touch, you know, assuming he ever had one.
"It's over Ladybug. Hand me your miraculous and I'll consider sparing your partner. What time do you think he would enjoy? The Romans, the Greeks... oh! I know! Why not the ice age? The choice is yours, Ladybug. Surrender or fall."
All I could do in reply was scowl. "Neither."
"Suit yourself..."
I froze, watching hopelessly as the villain trained his electric hand towards Chat.
"No!" Before I even registered what I was doing, I launched into the air. Now all that was left between the two was, well... me.
"Ladybug! No!"
The moment the icy blast hit my side, I knew something was very, very, wrong.
"M'lady? M'lady! M-" immediately my vision faded. And everything went black.
- The Future -
Marinette's POV"Adrien!"
I turned to see my husband rushing down the stairs, head peeking around the corner.
"Yes M'lady?" I smiled at his eagerness to help out, though no doubt about it, it was very much needed.
"Can you grab the-"
"Cocoa Puffs?"
"Yeah. And the-"
"Pickles?"
"Well, yes, but maybe also some-"
"Chicken nuggets smothered in hot sauce?"
I smiled as he looked at me, concern at my every little need in his eyes. "Exactly. You're the best."
"I know." He smirked. I giggled and launched a pillow at him, though he promptly dodged it and started walking towards the other side of the house.
"Let's see..." I thought out loud, looking through a pile of old games, dvds, and other forgotten mementos sitting in the back of the closet. "There it is! Mecha Strike III! Now that was a classic." As I turned around, game in hand, my eye caught another item.
I chuckled as I pulled out the dusty photo album, smiling fondly as I looked through the pictures.
I started in the back, some of the more recent photos, looking at the newest additions. We had a few pictures from vacations and our honeymoon, of course. Family photos took up a good portion as well. Then a couple wedding photos, although there was a separate album dedicated solely to that. And finally, high school.
Senior year. I remembered that trip to Italy. We went with the class, but Adrien and I spent most of the nights in costume, sneaking out to watch the lights over the city.
Junior year. Adrien and I had just discovered our identities and were closer than ever. Most of the group photos with our classmates and friends consisted of the two of us side by side, wide smiles on our faces.
Softmores. Aw yes, the trip to America. Adrien had a big photo shoot, and he had invited Alya, Nino, and I as we spent a month going to cities like New York, Chicgao, and Las Angeles.
And finally... Freshmen. Wow, I could hardly remember that. We were fifteen, that was over 8 years ago. So much had changed since then, but I continued to smile at the photos.
The page was full of group outings with Alya, Nino, and Adrien, including a few stops at Andrés and our excursion dragging the boys through the mall.
I put the book back and inserted the game into our console. Of course, 4 and 5 were sitting out as well, but this one in particular brought back memories.
"Hey! Ooh! Did you get out MS3?! It's been a while since you've beat my ass at that."
I laughed as I saw Adrien awkwardly carrying in a plate with the random foods I had requested, gently setting it on the coffee table and grabbing a controller.
"Don't worry, I've beaten you at a lot of things since. You aren't missing out on much, kitty."
He chucked before selecting his player.
"Something tells me that this little guy will be just as amazing as his mom."
I rolled my eyes. "As long as he doesn't take after your sense of humor."
"What! My puns are purr-"
"Shut it pretty boy."
"Yes Princess."
And with that, no words between us, I snuggled against him using one hand to hold the controller and letting the other rest on my slowly protruding stomach.
Who needed to be a teenager?
I had the perfect life right here, right now.
A/N: hello! *inserts awkward wave* I know that no one's actually going to read this story, but if you do, you may have noticed there will be a lot of jumping around, so I want to clarify a few things. The main characters in the "past" are set at 15 years old and 23 in the "future". If I put a character's name for POV and a time period, it automatically means whatever version on that character is currently residing in that time period, though that should be pretty easy to pick up on. If you have any questions, just let me know! I hope, my nonexistent readers and friends, that you enjoy the story!
