"Happy birthday to my dear son, Loki!" Frigga says loud enough for the whole crowd to hear. "Let the celebration begin!" She says in harmonic bliss. The crowd cheers and the music starts.
I am not very big fan of parties but even the god of lies can't lie about liking the attention.
"Happy birthday!" Sif pats my back agressively and goes to Thor. I follow her.
"Loki, brother!" Thor laughs loud and proud. "I remember like it was just yesterday we were children. Now look at us, we are grown men!"
"Give or take a thousand years as fully grown." I smirk and shove Thor and he does the same almost knocking me over.
"How do you like the party, Loki? And by party, I mean, see anything you like?" Fandral approaches me with open arms and pulls me into a hug. I laugh, he lets go and I scope the garden as a joke and he giggles his strange manly giggle.
"Nothing yet, Fandral! Have you?" I smile.
"Any fair lady is a good lady!" He playfully punches my jaw. Then a red haired woman winks at us as she walks by and Fandral looks at me. I knod to let him know he can have her.
"Loki! Are you enjoying yourself?" Volstagg asks while sipping on wine.
"Yes." I say, which is sort of a lie. I am enjoying the company but as an introvert I'd rather be alone.
Thor shoots a look at me. Even for his short intellect he knows that was a lie.
"Loki, can I speak with you alone for a moment, please?" Thor surprisingly says queitly, I simply cannot say no.
He drags me away from the loud, harsh crowds towards the enterance.
"Listen, and listen kindly, brother, mother planned this party specially for you."
"Well, of course it is. It's the day of my birth." I chuckle.
"No, Loki. At least try to make it look like as if you are having a grand time."
"Fine, Thor!" I stamper off before he could say anything else.
I find my mother and thank her for the party, but she quickly is taking away from me by her older guests. I can never spend quatily time with her at royal gatherings. Without her it's just repulsive and uncomfortable.
"Loki! I am disappointed in you! You haven't drunk a thing!" Volstagg slurs.
Where on Asgard did he come from? For a thick sized fellow, he is rather a quiet approach.
"I rather not." I say firmly and all he does is laugh.
"Well, someone read the wrong side of the book today!" He laughs, he can never drink a little tiny bit. He's going to empty all of Asgards kegs after this party.
I turn my attention towards the dancing group starting to form. People sober and drunk are tripping over eachother, I can't help but smile.
Then a lady falls, flat on her face and the music stops but then starts again as she jumps back up. All she does is smile, she's neither embarassed or hurt.
"Strong girl." I mumble to myself.
Her complection is rather... Nice. She seems unique just by looking at her. The way she dances is enchanting. Her brown curly locks bounce around and her eyes sparkle a dashing silver-grey.
"Volstagg?" I face him, relieved he's still beside me.
"Yes, my prince." Oh god, he's awfully drunk. I cringe my face surpisingly.
"Who is that woman?" I gesture my head directly towards her. Volstagg scans her and turns is attention back to me.
"Sigyn, a young training Valkyire." He knods.
Sigyn.
Wow, I was not expecting such a wonderius name. It undenyingly suits her presence.
"Can you tell-" Volstagg runs off towards Thor. I ignore the annoying feeling I have in my stomache and gaze towards Sigyn, whom is tired from dancing and just sits there and watches cheerfully.
She is sitting all alone. Come on, Loki, stop be a cowardess fool and go talk her. Oh, goodness I hope no one notices how anxious I must look. I take a deep breath and walk towards her.
"Loki!"
Damn.
There goes my dignity.
"Loki, are you having a good time?" Odin stands before me, giving me a slight smile.
"Yes, mother has really out done herself."
"She-We love you very much."
"I know and thank you, father."
He smiles and marches towards Thor...I take a deeper breath than the one before and turn towards Sigyn's table, but she is nowhere to be seen.
I sigh in defeat and all I wish to do now is sleep.
I stop to give my mother a loving embrace for the party.
"Have a good night, my son. I'll tell our guests to make their ways home." She reaches for my cheek.
"No, no, mother, keep the party going, everyone is having such a gracious time." I say and plant a kiss on her forehead.
I am relieved to leave but yet I am disappointed in myself, not only for leaving early but being such a fool to be down for one woman in which I do not know. But I hope to Valhalla I could see her again, soon.
