Gunhak lay on his bed. His eyes open but staring at nothing.
Sheets that were once soft and comfortable now seemed course and hard.
He closed his eyes breathing in as he thought of his only love. How when she smiled, the skin under her eyes would squish and her cheek would dimple, how when she cried, the fact that she cried like a normal person made her seem more real.
But he hated the fact that he'd seen her cry. He despised it with every inch of his being.
She didn't want to be with you.
"No" he muttered
Then why did she leave you.
"Leave me alone"
You know i'm right...
"LEEEAAVVVE!!!!!"
He jolted up gasping and sweating.
A girl beside him gasped as she backed away.
"Umm" She said "Forgive me for waking you Your Highness, but.... you have a visitor."
Gunhak looked up to see one of the four brides chosen out for him. Ma-Young was it?
"What?" He asked drearily, "What is lady Ma-Young doing here?"
"Um, It's Ha-Young your Highness." The maid said.
"Leave us Sua." Ha-Young said.
"Yes Ma'am." She scuffled out quickly leaving the door open.
Ha-Young closed it.
"You look terrible." She said, walking towards him.
"I feel fine." Gunhak lied shifting away as she sat on the bed right beside him.
"No you're not" she said, "Somethings on your mind."
Gunhak said nothing.
Ha young sighed. She used her hand to pull his head to face him.
"Want me to take your mind off of it."
Gunhak looked into her eyes.
He didn't move as Ha Young brought her lips to his, but he didn't stop her either.
Ha Young pushed him down in the bed and lay on top of him. Rolling her body over his.
Gunhak groaned.
"Stop."
Ha Young froze. Gunhak pushed her away at the shoulders.
This whore, Gunhak thought, She's so willing to throw herself at me.
"I would not want to dishonour you or your father." Gunhak lied.
"Oh, you're so chivalrous you highness." Ha Young flirted.
An idea hit Gunhak at that very moment. Something that he believed would distract him from everything.
"However," He started capturing Ha Young's full attention, "I'd be happy to do it with when we are married."
Ha Young's heart broke.
"That's amazing!" She squeeled jumping into Gunhak's arms.
"I'll go tell the queen." She said.
"You do that." Gunhak said.
Ha Young Kissed him, then walked towards the door.
Once it was closed she walked to her chambers. Opening the door to see Dongju staring out the window.
"Is it done?" He said.
"Yes."
He turned around, slowly.
"Good," he forced out, "all is going according to plan."
"Yes."
