Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Maks
It was a week after Meryl kicked Maks out of the house, he was sure she would get over it in a day or so, but a week? How long does it take for a pregnant women to stop being mad at her husband? Luckily for Maks, Val recently got a house in Michigan to be closer to his brother so Maks has been staying there with him for the week and getting a million questions about what happened. "What exactly did she say?" "Did she seem that pissed off at you?" "What did you do?" "What started it?" "Do you want me to go talk to her?" "You guys have only been married for a few weeks, what happened?" That's Val for you. But Maks loved his little brother; he knew that Maks was going through a rough time right now so he invited him to come to an ugly sweater party which Maks kindly refused. He didn't want to have any fun without Meryl. She was all he wanted right now. So right now Maks was sitting in a bar, alone, on Christmas Eve, staring at his phone. He has been waiting all week for Meryl to call him back so he could just hold on to her forever and never let her go. The day was speeding by and Maks couldn't stop thinking about what Meryl was doing right now. She was probably doing something better than sitting and staring at her phone.

Meryl
Meryl couldn't stop staring at her phone, debating if she should call Maks or not. The whole week Meryl has been going over in her head the night she forced Maks out of the house and how angry she was. Sometimes she didn't know why she was so mad and others she thought she had every right to kick him out. Dealing with these mood swings was a horror for Meryl. She couldn't imagine how Maks felt about them. One minute she was worried about him the next she couldn't care less because she thought this was all his fault. She yelled at herself and at Maks who wasn't even there and then she would break down in tears wanting him there to comfort her and hold her in his arms forever. She was married to an amazing man who loved her and she loved him, yet it was Christmas Eve and she was alone in her house staring at her phone. Charlie tried to get her out of the house by inviting her to an ugly sweater party they were having with some of their friends from DWTS but she declined. Meryl didn't want to have fun without Maks; right now he was all she wanted. Hopefully that feeling wouldn't go away with another mood swing anytime soon.

Val
Val went to Charlie's house around noon because they needed to talk about Meryl and Maks. Maks was a mess, he went to the bar this morning and he hasn't taken his eyes off his phone all week. Charlie told Val that Meryl was the same way only he hasn't actually seen her, only talked over the phone. She refuses to come out of the house or see anyone. So Charlie and Val had a plan to invite both of them to the ugly sweater party they were having today without them knowing they would see each other there but Maks had turned down Val's request and if he had to guess, Val would say so did Meryl. Val knocked on Charlie's door, what the hell were they going to do now? Charlie answered the door.
"Val, hey, come in." Charlie said and pointed Val to the living room where they sat down to talk.
"How are you doing?" Val asked politely.
"I'm good thanks, you?" Charlie asked.
"Fine." Val paused "So how's Meryl? Any luck?"
Charlie looked defeated.
"None at all, she won't leave her house to see me and she refused going to the party. She's a wreck; she's never been like this before. I tried everything to get her out but nothing worked. How's Maks?"
"Same way. They are train wrecks without each other. Maks has been at the bar all week and wont put his phone down. He probably thinks if he stares at it long enough then it will magically make Meryl call him." Val said sadly. "I don't know what to do. He said no to the party too. I don't even know how this started do you?".
"No clue. Meryl didn't want to talk about it, she just told me they were going through a rough patch. She sounded pretty broken about it." Charlie said sadly.
"I don't know what to do next." Val said.
"I guess we wait for a Christmas miracle huh?" Charlie said doubtfully.
"I guess that's all we can do then. Hope it happens soon, Maks is so damn depressing."
