"Are you my neighbour, Ghost?" I asked, trying not be to seen very appalled. It was my first words to him after three years.

He looked at me indifferently with his annoying almond-shaped light brown eyes. Then without saying a word, he passed me and disappeared in the stairs.

Behind him, I rolled my eyes with irritation. How unlucky I must have been to have Ghost as my next door neighbour as if it wasn't enough to see him in the class! When the first shock passed, I wonder where he went though. It was Saturday so what business he had at eight in the morning? I shook my head while murmuring none of my business before going back in to unpack.

I didn't have much stuff so it didn't take too much time to unpack. It was a very small room with a couch, small closet, bed, table for four, a small kitchen unit with a mini fridge and a bathroom. The bed was reclined against the wall which I was sharing with Ghost.

After finished everything, I went for a lunch, from there to Wang Yong's house to plan our new business step. I had the dinner with him, then went back to my house to grab my bike as the school was only fifteen minute away from my new place by bike. When I came back to rooftop, it was already ten pm.

As it was October, the weather was still very nice. There were two chairs and a small table in the rooftop area so I decided to sit outside for a while to watch the stars. Unwittingly I checked Ghost's window but there was no light in. Already sleeping? I murmured, and speaking of the devil, it appeared in the next second.

Gosh, he looked so tired. He was stooping so much that I thought he would collapse in a minute. He raised his head when he noticed my existence but said nothing. Slowly he walked inside his room and closed the door.

I kept looking at his closed door for a while, wondering what he did all day to be that tired. But, noticing that the person of interest was Ghost, I dismissed my curiosity and went inside.

The next day was exactly the same with Ghost. He again left at eight, paying no attention to me, and he came back at ten thirty with a sullen expression. I didn't know the reason but the way he ignored me really pissed me off.

"Good evening to you as well," I yelled at him.

He abruptly stopped and turned his head to look at me. I swear he had no expression on his face, blank as a white paper. He arched his eyebrows in a way meaning 'really?' and went in saying nothing. It took all of my will power not to drag him back and beat the hell out of him.

Thinking back that time, now I know how ridiculous it was for me to feel that way as it was me who ignored him for three years and giving him the nickname; Ghost. He only behaved the same way I did to him and I got super angry only in two days. Imagine how he felt during those three years, being all alone? However, at that time I was still the young and stupid me, so I didn't think about the matter like I do now.

Next week also passed very normal until Thursday. I got used to my place pretty well although it was one sixth of what my old guy had. The rooftop place was pretty close to the school with bike so I had additional half an hour to sleep. The only problem was Ghost. As I re-discovered his existence, I couldn't help but stealing glances towards his direction. After the copy disaster, he changed his seat and he was sitting on the last desk near the window, so there was only aisle between us. Whenever, I was bored (it means all the time during the class), I was watching him with my eagle eyes.

It was really interesting that we never paid him any attention. He was really like a ghost; always silent and not moving around much. Only during the lunch break, he was disappearing, God knew where he was going. As much as I saw, he didn't have any friends to talk with, nailing his nickname; Ghost.

After the school, he wasn't coming back to home until ten pm. I really wondered if he had any friends outside the school, maybe he was meeting them. How about his family? Why he was living alone in that shabby rooftop alone? As you see, I had so much free time in my hand to wonder about anything other than studying. While he was disappearing during the lunch break, I was having my lunch and thinking about my new business plan.

It was one of those moments that I was forced to leave my thoughts.

"Are you blind as well as being retarded?!" I saw Ding Yun yelling at Ghost.

Retarded? I said inwardly. Ghost was the smartest person in the school and as you can notice Ding Yun was the most stupid as well as the most troublesome. I didn't like him any and tried to stay away from him as I have no wish to deal with retarded people.

"Sorry," Ghost whispered and wanted to move toward to his desk but Ding Yun grabbed his slim arm.

"Sorry? You spilled the whole milk on me you f*cking bastard!" He raised his hand to punch Ghost.

As I was against violence, I couldn't let that bastard hit Ghost. He was so damn fragile so if he was hit by that bull, he was sure to be hospitalised. Also, I was the king of the class so I had this weird self-given responsibility to keep the peace in the classroom. So, I jumped into the scene and saved the damsel-in-distress by grabbing Din Yun's arm midair.

"I don't want violence in the class," I said very calmly and pushed him back a little.

"Move aside or I will beat you as well!" He spitted his words.

I exhaled heavily with irritation but didn't move aside. He had no chance against me but apparently he didn't know that. He rushed towards me with his fist ready to attack and then everything got crazy.

Fifteen minutes later, we were sitting in the principal's room. Well, I was sitting and Ding Yun was lying down lifelessly. Another half an hour and my and Ding Yun's parents joined us in the room. As you can guess, lots of blah blah so sorry blah blah and we were free to go. Don't be happy, I was just free to go from the principal's room. Old guy wasn't satisfied with the scolding so he forced me to go back home and yelled at me for an hour until my stepmom forced him to stop. Only then, I was free to go.

Isn't it unfair? I saved a person's life so I should have been complimented not scolded, right?

As if it wasn't enough, the next morning at seven, I got a call from my stepmom and my blood froze in my veins.
