"What?!" I yelled at the phone.

"You heard me, your father went to meet with his lawyer. He said he will officially change his will so that you will see he is serious about your education," my stepmom explained to me very calmly. I heard a bit of sadness in her voice but I knew she was just faking it. She would get everything and had the power to get rid of me after my old guy's death. So yes, double win for her.

I gritted my teeth, "why are you telling me this?"

"So that you can start studying. Although he doesn't show, your father loves you dearly and believes in your capacity so do I. So please make your father proud."

I rolled my eyes with irritation, she was a great actress. But I have to admit that she was right, I really needed to start studying in order not to lose everything, especially the house as it was the only place I had memories with my mom.

"Whatever," I murmured and hung up. Indeed, I was a very rude brat. As I was already wide awake thanks to the the phone call, I decided to go to school a little early to think about a way to skyrocket my grades in less than ten months.

I took a quick shower, got dressed and hit the road with my bike. When I was half way through, a similar figure got caught to my attention. What did you say, Ming Wei? Bingo!

He was walking slowly with his headphones in his ears and his brown backpack on his back. Up until that point, I didn't know he was walking to school as it was at least half an hour of a walk, but common it was Ghost, of course he had to puzzle me.

"Hey," I slowed down my tempo so we were going side by side. Normally, I wouldn't talk to him but after the fight, I didn't see him and I really wondered his reaction.

Ghost pretended not to hear me.

"Really?" I asked after blocking his path with my bike.

"What do you want?" he asked with a cold voice, taking the earphones out of his ears.

Damn, it wasn't the reaction I was waiting. I exhaled heavily while folding my arms on my chest, "what do I want? Is it how you thank the person who saved your damn ass?" I tried to be sound calm but at the end of the sentence I might yell a bit.

"I didn't ask your help but still thank you," he answered calmly and walked away, leaving me behind with a mouth open.

WHAT A WEIRDO!

When I arrived to school, I was still so angry that I forgot to collect the orders for the next week. I slumped to my chair and tried to think of a way to improve my grades. Well, it would be easy if improving was enough, but I needed first to create the grade with two digits!

Smack! A hand hit my shoulder, "what's wrong?"

It was Wang Yong, my sole partner in crime and business. "Come with me," I said while already dragging him to the schoolyard. We sat on our hidden bench and I told him everything happened between my old guy and I.

He listened to me with a frown and when I was done, he said "you need a fast and effective method. So, shall we start with the nerds?"

I nodded and we went to visit the nerds from whom we were buying the notes. However, none of them were good at all subjects or at one subject entirely and paying them separately for tutoring was out of question. So actually, they weren't that much nerds ha!

Nerds: crossed out! (Also the name.)

"How about studying the notes of the nerds? At least it is free as we already have them," Wang Yong suggested in the first break.

So we sat together in my room after school and tried to review the notes. It took us half an hour to understand which note was for which class and after reading the first pages of all the notes for at least five times, I knew I couldn't do it alone.

"You have only one choice left then," Wang Yong threw the notes he was holding on the floor.

"What?" Suddenly I had hope again.

"Ghost."

"No way," I threw him a pillow, "I would rather die."

"Well, you don't have much choice though," he said matter of factly and threw the pillow back to me.

"He would never accept that," I had millions of reasons why it was no go.

"Did you try?" he challenged me.

"Yes, three years ago, remember?"

"Now you are older and wiser, find a way to convince him. You can also mention that you saved his ass yesterday so he owes you one." Damn, he was so good at arguing, too bad he was so bad at studying like me.

I rolled my eyes and chased him out. Then took my place on the rooftop area so that I wouldn't miss Ghost. Wang Yong was right, I had to try.

I was getting bored of waiting when he finally showed up. As usual, he paid no attention to me but I blocked his way. "Can we talk for a second?" I asked trying to be sound friendly.

Ghost arched his eyebrows for a second with suspicion before trying to pass me. I grabbed his arm softly as I didn't want to break it. He was only a head shorter than me but I was twice of his size.

"You owe me one you know, so you should pay back," I blurted out as I had a feeling he would never agree to help me willingly.

"Now you are talking," he said while staring at me with those light brown eyes.

I rubbed my face with irritation, why it was so hard to talk to him? I took a deep breath before saying "I know we didn't get along in the past but I really need your help now. You can think it as a pay back and I can pay you money as well."

He frowned, "what do you need?" he asked with hesitation.

"Tutor me, I need to pass all the subjects," I answered pitifully.

"I can't," he tried to leave but I stopped him again.

"You can't or won't?"

"Does it matter? Either way you won't get what you want," he pushed me aside and went in.

"F* YOU!" I yelled behind him because I knew he could hear.
