"How did it go?" Wang Yong asked the next morning.

I didn't reply and Wang Yong understood what I meant.

"What now?" He gave me a huge smile, trying to encourage me.

I showed him the study notes which we threw aside a day ago. "I will try to handle non-math courses but I have no idea with math and science," I answered with despair while leaning my head on the notes. Who knew maybe I could understand everything written in the notes if I slept on them.

Wang Yong opened his mouth to say something but at that moment the door opened and Ghost slid to his desk. I stared at him with daggers in my eyes as if he cared. Ghost had no interest in earthly happenings...

"Don't stare him as if you gonna kill him," Wang Yong whispered so I turned my head reluctantly.

When I set my mind on something, there is no way for me to give up. Therefore, with my new resolution, I decided to read the history notes during the lunch break. I bought a bag of steamed meat buns and decided to go to rooftop as I knew it was not locked, hehe, I knew everything about the school.

Arriving to my destination, I was sure the destiny was playing a very dirty game with me. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked angrily to the figure who was sitting on an old bench.

"It is me who needs to ask this," he answered with the same level of anger, "are you trying to bother me because I said no last night?"

I rolled my eyes, "I have no time for playing with you," I said and sat on the other end of the bench.

"Can you just go somewhere else?" Ghost asked without looking at me.

"I can't, I need a silent place to read," I stared at him, "but you can go."

For the first time he looked at me, "it is my place for three years so I won't go anywhere."

I paused for a second as I didn't know that. "How about lunch?" I asked unconsciously as he only had his notebook in his hand.

He didn't reply and pretended to focus on his notebook. But as you know, I can't let it go until I satisfy my curiosity so I repeated the question two more times.

"I don't have lunch!" He yelled before I asked for the fourth time.

"Why?" I asked softly. No wonder he looked like a ghost.

He exhaled heavily with irritation, "it is waste of time, happy?"

He was lying. I don't know how but I knew it. I looked at him very carefully for the first time. He was very neat but his shoes, bag and coat looked quite worn out. Was it because of money that he wasn't eating? I felt a sudden pang in my heart, not noticing it before. I am very a very sensitive person, so what?

"Why are you scrutinising me?" He asked with a frown and brought me back to earth.

With a sudden move, I grabbed one of my buns and stuffed into his mouth.

"What the hell?!" He tried to say with his mouth full.

"You can't understand anything with an empty stomach," I said all-knowingly while placing the bag of buns in between us, "take more, think it as my rent for sharing the area."

He froze for a second with a weird expression and his eyes were fixed on my face. He was highly mysterious that I couldn't understand anything from his reactions.

"What?" I had to ask at the end.

My question brought him to his senses. Quickly he shook his head, saying "nothing," and looked back to his notebook while munching the remaining of the bun.

So we sat there together silently and studied our materials until there was ten minutes left before the end of the lunch break. I collected my stuff and moved towards the door but he stopped me.

"You forgot your buns," he raised the bag towards me to take.

"It is your share," I said with a light smile and went in before he could say something.

The second day, I bought two bento boxes before going to the rooftop. I was in love with steamed buns but I had a feeling Ghost wasn't taking care of himself. I didn't know why but that situation bothered me. I sat on the same spot as yesterday and gave him the bento box before opening mine.

He raised his eyebrows, "what's this?"

"Lunch, can't you tell?" I couldn't help but tease him.

He put the box on the bench and pushed towards me, "you can't change my mind, so don't bother," he said very seriously.

I rolled my eyes, "I know it already so don't worry," I said while pushing the box back to him. I wasn't that sneaky, you know.

"Then why are you doing this?" He was very confused, I saw it in his eyes. But I didn't understand what was so confusing. Wasn't it normal for classmates to treat each others? Was I that bad in his eyes that he didn't believe my sincerity?

"It was two buy one pay, so just take it," I said at the end as I had materials to study.

Of course he didn't believe it but didn't comment on it. He took it and started to eat slowly. I was so satisfied, God knew why, but it helped me to study with a smile on my face.

Interestingly, before he was leaving, he told me not to study Chapter 5 and 11 of history because they wouldn't be asked in the exam. I stared behind him with a smirk, he wasn't that heartless or maybe he was too proud, I couldn't decide.

Merciful or proud, Ghost kept giving me small tactics about the lessons I was studying and I kept bringing him lunch. Although we never chit-chatted or acknowledged each other in the class, it was surprisingly pleasant to sit with him on the rooftop.

"The weather is getting cold, soon we won't be able to sit here," I said on the sixth day we were on the rooftop.

Ghost raised his head from his book and gave me a frown. "So?"

Initially, I wanted to say that we needed to find a new place inside but the reply he gave me pissed me a bit. Was he that indifferent towards me? Didn't he enjoy any with my presence?

"I mean you have to hurry up a bit to pay me for saving your ass from Ding Jun," I blurted out although I didn't mean it.

I saw his hand on the book twitched for a second and his gaze darkened. He collected his stuff and gave me a cold look while saying "I will pay it for sure, don't worry." Then he left the rooftop, leaving me cursing to myself for being an ass-hole.

Unfortunately, he wasn't lying as next day he really repaid me.
