"Next time I tell you to do something you jump right on it do you hear me " Alpha Stan screams in my face.

"Yyyess sir" I manage to stutter out through my tears. "I was going to do it but your mother told me to start cooking dinner and it slipped my mind."

"I didn't ask for your excuses, just don't let this happen again pup." He said while the sinister look that he only saved especially for me spread across his face.
My stomach immediately dropped when I saw it. From that very look, I knew a punishment was going to be in my near future.

"ok" I mutter quickly without thinking. Well, that just seemed to put the icing on the cake because as soon as I tried to make my escape, I felt a heavy, quick hand smash across my cheek. Then without warning, that same hand clenched a solid chunk of my long locks.

"Don't you ever ok me, and it's Alpha Stan to you." he spat as he releases his tight grip on my hair. "Now go start dinner, the pack is coming back from training in a few."

"Yes, Alpha Stan," I say as I get off the floor and walk down the hallway. I try to keep the tears at bay as I massage my throbbing scalp, but a couple still finds a path down my burning cheek. You'd think I'd be used to this treatment but it still burns a hole where my heart used to take home.

"Stay strong Abigail " My inner wolf whispers to me as I make my way to the kitchen.

To think that this is what my life has become. I used to be so happy when I was younger. I had a family and many friends to share my life with, but that drastically changed when I turned fifteen five years ago.

You see when a werewolf turns fifteen they are supposed to get their wolf. That is a milestone that sets the babies from the real grow-ups. I've heard that it's the greatest day of anybody's life.

Sadly that wasn't the case for me. I remember getting up extra early and eating a heady breakfast in hope that that would make my wolf stronger. I even went as far as doing stupid workouts just to strengthen myself for my beloved wolf. When that day began to come to an end, I was beyond worried. I locked my self in my room the entire time. I covered my ears as I heard the near screams of my friends and fellow pack members as they made their first shift.

The next day I patiently waited for my turn but it never came and after a few days my parents took me to the pack doctor. He said that it's very rare that a fifteen-year-old doesn't receive their wolf and that maybe it'll come when I'm more mature. This information didn't please my parents but they went with it for a while.

When word got around that I didn't receive my wolf, the abuse began. At first, it was just mild name-calling, but after a while, it got worse. I couldn't even leave the house without being tripped or pushed down. Even my own friends had turned their backs while some even joined in with the relentless bullies.

It seemed as though I had no one. Not only had my friends disappeared, but my parents had drifted away from me too. They no longer embraced me when I came through the door bruised up and in tears. They just turned their heads and acted as if I were invisible.

After a year I started to lose hope, but then I started hearing this tiny voice in my head.

"Don't give up just yet" it said. Startled I jumped out of bed and turned on my lights but there was no one there.

" Hello, Abigail."

"What's going on!" I screamed.

Again the same voice said, "Don't be afraid it's just me."

"Who are you?" I said trembling. Maybe after seemingly endless years of abuse, I had finally snapped.

"I'm your wolf," the voice says.

"But I don't have a wolf, " I say back.

"Yes, you do I'm just not there in a physical form like everyone else's wolf. I am here for you though and just know that I'd never leave you Abigail." She said with the patience and understanding of a mother.

Since then that has been the only thing keeping me sane. She has actually saved my life on many occasions through her encouragement. Like when I turned seventeen and my parents kicked me out and sent me to the packhouse out of embarrassment. She was there for me. Also when I wake up crying she is there to give some comforting words

"Snap out of it Abigail," my wolf said, "You need to start dinner before the Alpha comes down." Sighing I stepped out of my daydream and started preparing dinner for the pack.
