Chapter 26: Shadow Man

After awhile of searching, we finally made it to the show and was brought in for free because Eugene's parents helped pay for this place

The hypnotist, he was a very scary looking man with dark skin and a thin body... I believe his name was called Dr. Facilier.

We sat in the front row. he had ask Eugene to help him on his act. we saw him doing some magic tricks with his shadow... shadow... oh no! Thats the shadow man!

"Eugene! We have to go!" I loud whispered. He just stared at Dr.Facilier. i looked at my friends and they did the same, everyone in the audience did. i was the only one moving

I looked at the stage and saw the shadow wiggling his fingers to the audience. Dr.Facilier took out a weird necklace and sunk something purple from everyone... what do i do!?

I looked behind me and saw that girl i bumped into and her sister next to what I'm guessing is her parents

'You'll be her guardian' Mama Odie's voice echoed in my head. i looked around and found some long stick with a G on the top and ran towards to grab it

I had a strange feeling in my fingers once i held it. i looked up at Dr.Facilier and grabbed the necklace from him

"Hey brat! Give it back!" He ordered. i held it with my hands and smashed it on the floor. the purple ghost went back into the people, even the girl...

"No! This was my second chance and this happens?!" Dr.Facilier shouted at me "you! You're going to pay!" He reached for me, but i panicked and knocked him out with the stick. his body started to leave into thin air while strange things were happening. i was frozen

After awhile, everyone started moving and the stick in my hands started to disappear. i looked up and saw Eugene about to fall, i caught him and saw that his eyes werent their usual brown, they were a lavender...

"Eugene!" I shook him to snap out of it. he pushed me out the way, grabbed the pieces of the necklace that i broke and ran out. "No! Eugene!" I ran after him and pass up the girl hugging her sister. we made eye contact for a moment before i exit the building and searched for Eugene all around

My friends ran after me "Jack! Wheres Eugene??" Merida cried "im scared... if only i knew we were going to see the shadow man..." she cupped her eyes. Hiccup hugged her

"We'll find him" i told them and started looking for him. we ran everywhere until we found him near some fireworks around alot of people..

"Eugene!" We ran towards him. he had a match in his fingers and lit up many fireworks without even touching them. it was like... magic

Loud sounds went off so loudly that i thought my ears were going to explode... me and my friends ducked and covered Eugene while the fireworks went wild.

When the sound fated, we stood up and saw nearly everyone on the ground, not moving. my eyes widened in terror... Eugene started giggling and lifted up the necklace i thought i destroyed. he's still hypnotized...

"Eugene" i cried "stop..." he didn't stop, purple ghost started going into the necklace. Something in the sky dropped on my hand, it was wet... and ice cold... so cold that i couldn't stand it... it burned... But soon enough, the inside of my body felt warm. the cool air around me wasn't even cold like it was earlier, i didn't even need this jacket anymore. the cold didn't bother me

Nearly all the ghost were in the necklace. i glared and held the hand that was holding it and saw his hand turning light blue. i was so angry that i really wanted to destroy the thing that was hurting my Bestfriend.
