We left the scorched camping grounds and we walked back to the old and empty part of the town, where we first were captured by Crystal and her soldiers. We walked back to the streets in the small town where James and Harry lived with their parents, only now we walked as a large group with the same goal.
Our large group walked with our heads held high, not caring if the people in town would report us to Prune or his men.
"He needs a warning" said Janice proudly as she animated a knife and scraped it against the cars she went by, creating an ear-bleeding screech with the knife.
We walked back to the forest with the cave we hid in when we first escaped the prison before we walked past the car wrecks that James and Rubie proudly made, back in time when I didn't know what my abilities were, back when I was defenseless
"Here we are" I said as we were just by the edge of the forest outside of Prune's prison. "What now?" asked Rubie as she cracked her knuckles and prepared for a fight, "Now we walk through the gate" said Crystal and freely walked out of the forest and up to the main road where the gate to the prison was.
Chad and his men followed, as Rubie and I had other plans to get the kids out.
"What can we do?" I asked as I hadn't thought through the plan and was worried that we'd be doing this without even thinking clearly. "I'll break through the wall and I'll break every collar that the kids have" said Rubie and tried to help me decide what we should do.
"Wait! Sam, did you leave behind your robot toy when we left?" asked Rubie in a hurry as she helped Sam get down from her back, "Yes I did" replied Sam and was still a little annoyed by it. "Sam, use your ability to let the kids know that they need to break free" said Rubie in a hurry as she turned into ruby and ran to the fence around the prison and ripped it as simply as a piece of paper.
"Can you reach it?" I asked as Sam closed his eyes and reached his arm out to get in contact with the little robot toy, "Yes" he simply replied and grunted as he reached further out with his arm.
"Say something, warn them of what's about to happen!" I said as I kept an eye out, trying not to draw much attention towards us.
"This is the rebels speaking, we are outside of the gate and are here to rescue you! Get lose from your collars, get lose from the grip Prune has on you and find someone to help if you can." Said Sam, only to shock himself when he accidentally spoke from the speaker system the prison had.
"Did I do it right?" asked Sam as he retracted his arm and fell into my arms of tiredness, "Yes, you did" I replied as I watched Rubie smash through the walls of the prison and activated the alarm system the prison had.
I looked back at the main road, where Crystal, Janice and Chad stood their ground ready to fight whatever Prune had in store for them. "Do you want me to take care of him?" asked Jaden from behind me, "What?" I asked as I was surprised to see him away from the battlefield and away from his leader.
"There isn't much fighting I can do with shadows" replied Jaden with a smirk and chuckled a bit, "I hope this goes as planned" I said as I looked back once more on the main road where a large battle had started between the robotic armored guards and us rebels.
"Go! I'll take care of Sam" said Jaden as he almost pushed me to run away from him, when a large robotic guard flew down right by us and swung it's arm breaking the tree we hid behind clean off.
I within seconds grabbed the robot's second arm and heated myself enough to melt through the arm like I did before, but this time the robotic guard was fast to react and punched me out of the way, as Jaden made the shadows around him as dark as night to cover both him and Sam.
I got up from the ground and reached my arms out to let release my power unleash on the guard, only stopping when I heard the man in the suit scream out in pain and horror.
"You saved me?" said Jaden in shock as the shadows around him and Sam faded away, "Yeah, it's what I do" I replied with a smile as he got up from the ground and hugged me.
"I should have tried to find you" said Jaden with a shaky voice, "I should have tried to find you when I got out, but I got so busy with everything else" continued Jaden and blamed himself for everything that happened. "What if you did rescue me? Would I still discover my ability? Would we still be doing this?" I asked and made him reflect his thoughts, before he grabbed my chin and kissed me passionately.
I backed away from Jaden and Sam, shocked but pleased at the same time. "Go rescue the children now!" said Jaden as he covered himself and Sam with shadows again, just before I entered the hallways of the prison where I once was locked up.
The screams of children wanting to get lose filled the entire prison and I quickly realized that we did not have the time to rescue them one and one at the time.
"Come on phoenix!" yelled one of the kids from a prison cell, "Yeah, come on phoenix!" yelled another kid and slowly but surely everyone started yelling for the phoenix. In a hurry, I sat down and found my inner peace and strength as I felt my body slowly but surely go warmer and warmer, to the point where it almost started hurting me?
"Phoenix! Phoenix! Phoenix!" yelled the crowd of kids and teens around me as I finally opened my eyes and felt my feet lift of the ground.
The kids around me was astonished and shocked, they looked like they'd seen a monster rise from hell.
"Cassie! Melt the doors and I'll handle the collars!" yelled Rubie who was finally done with the first prison block, releasing all the kids and letting them run out to the forest.
I slowly reached my arm out and fired a solid beam of flames towards the cellblock doors and released all the trapped kids and teens. One by one they queued up next to Rubie who used her strength to tear the collars off of the teens neck.
Some of the teens were fast to react and helped us both to keep the guards at bay while Rubie and I kept rescuing children. One of the teens had the ability generate enough energy to make the earth shake, while another had the ability to generate energy from the palm of her hands and shot the guards that got closer to us than to comfort.
Within minutes we had emptied the entire prison, but from all the teens and all the cells we had opened, we didn't find Harry in any of them.
"Where's Harry?" I asked as Rubie just shook her head to assure that she too hadn't seen him.
"HOLT!" yelled a familiar dark voice, "None of you will escape from this prison!" yelled in anger with the same toned voice and pushed some of the kids aside. It was the guard that hurt Rubie, tried to kill Janice and threw a grenade at me.
Rubie with full force ran up to the guard in her ruby form to punch the living crap out of him, but the guard caught her fist as she was ready to give him his final blow, and threw her into the prison wall, slightly crushing the wall she hit.
