Infinite opened the portal to a nightly city. Lights on everywhere, with a few animals walking down many streets. Not being a bad guy, but I had to say it. They WERE animals.
Infinite: That's Metropolis. My old home, before I became a mercenary. Grew up there with my sister. It's changed so much. Make the streets run red with blood.
Me: I'll have to get there and get situated first.
Infinite: I think you have too much stuff on you right now. What all do you have?
Me: Rifle, Shotgun, and a guitar.
Infinite: Well, your best option would be your shotgun. Guitar, why?
Me: Music. Maybe a good bait.
Infinite: Why would music be used as bait?
Me: Well, think five beers in at a bar and the girl who had a breakup.
Infinite: Nah. It's not right. You need to go. And fast. Trying to hold this portal open for so long hurts me.
Me: What about my disguise? Won't that leech my life?
Infinite: Only the initial transformation will take your life source. The Phantom Ruby you have was intended as a cloning and disguise one.
Me: There's multiple variations of it?
Infinite: There were many, then all the strength of each Ruby was incorporated into the final version, which I have.
Me: I guess that makes sense. So, why should I leave my guitar behind?
Infinite: Look. It hardly works and it only takes up space. If you ever get caught and are running from the cops, you can't be carrying so much stuff. If you get yourself in that position, then you want as many free hands as possible if you're running down a dead ended alley.
Me: What about my rifle?
Infinite: Unless you want to pick them off from such a far distance, and then run up to them and take the picture hoping you don't get cops, I'd suggest leave it.
I set my guitar case on the floor and dropped my rifle case off of my shoulder and set it on the other case.
Infinite: Shotgun is your best bet. Take it with you. Now, go kill ten of them. But first, do you still have that list?
I pulled it out of my pocket and showed it to him.
Infinite: Good. Now, disguise and alias.
I focused on my disguise, and I transformed into the dark black wolf with the gray claws. I slid the paper back into my pocket and scratched behind my ears.
Infinite: Alias? The name you want.
Me: Travis Shade the Wolf.
Infinite: Good. Now then, Orange, go to Metropolis and all over, and make the name Travis Shade be known.
I nodded and jumped through the portal and down onto the concrete pavement.
Infinite: Make the name be known well, Orange. Make the streets run red with blood.
Me: With pleasure, Boss. But I thought I had until midnight in three days.
Infinite: You do. It is currently midnight in this dimension. By midnight this dimension in three days, you BETTER have ten pictures.
I looked back at him just as he closed the portal, and I was staring up at the night sky.
Me: First order of business...
