Chapter 4

I woke up to Barry storming in. "We weren't the only ones effected were we?" He yelled. I ran out of the room. "Barry calm down." "I can't a man died today because I wasn't fast enough to save him" "We don't know how many people were effected." "Yes there may be some other meat-humans out there." "Meta- humans?" Me and Barry said at the same time. "It's a term that we are calling them." Caitlyn explained.

I got a ding on my phone. It was from my brother.

Hey mom's on the hospital she was hit by something on December 10th. They just found information that she has 2 kids. she is on life support come quick. Central City Hospital on 4th main street.

I gasp and drop my phone. "Arabella what is it?" Barry said frantically. I had tears in my eyes. "M-My mom s-she was hit by dark m-matter," I looked at Barry. "She is on life support." He pulled me in I tight hug. I stuffed my face in his chest. My hands rested on his chest next to my head. "Do you want me to run you there and I can stay with you?" I nodded my head. "You can have as much time as you need off work Miss Smith." Dr. Wells said.

I nod my head and Barry picked me up bridal style and he runs out. I feel the wind blowing against the back of my head. After a few seconds he stops and I fix my clothes and hair so it doesn't look windblown I then grab Barry's hand and we run in. The hospital was packed. People looked at us. It was silent. Creepy. I go up to the lady behind the desk. "I-I'm here to see Mary Smith." People gave me sympathetic look's. "I'm sorry but only family can see her." She gave me a rude look then she looked over at Barry and smiled flirty at him.

"I'm her daughter idiot." "What about that guy if he isn't related to her then he can't go in." She was a Bitch! Barry opened his mouth to speak up but I beat him. "He's my husband and she is his mother in-law. So what fucking room is she in?" I asked getting impatient. She rolled her eyes and I moved my hand up slowly. Barry caught it and made it look like I was reaching to garb my hand. "Room 426." I nodded and we both went on the elevator. He still didn't let go of my hand.

Once the doors opened on the 4th floor and we stepped out looking for room 426. once we found it I walked in and saw my mother hooked up to so many machines. My older brother Aiden looked up he saw me. He had tear stained face. Tears rolled down my face. We were always so close he is 29, 4 years older than me. But we were the only children. My mom got pregnant again but the baby died.

I let go of Barry's hand and ran to my brother. I wrapped my arms around his neck. After a few minutes we let go. "Who is this?" Aiden said. "This is Barry Allen my best friend." Aiden walked over to Barry and stuck out his hand. "Hi I'm Aiden and I am Arabella's older brother." 'Nice to meet you Aiden." They shook hands and we sat in the chairs next to her bed.

"How bad is it?" "Well on December 10th she was out walking on the streets and she was hit by a wave of something doctors can't explain it. But she has been on life support ever since and the doctors just found out that she has us. They asked about dad..." he trailed off. I flinched at his name. Barry looked at me and Aiden. "When me and Aiden were growing up, and I was 10 and he was 14, our father started to abuse me and mom."

I took a deep breath. "My father was so hell bent on making Aiden the same way but he never was. One day when he was at work my mother told Aiden to protect me always no matter what. My father would always hit my mom when she didn't cook something right or she missed a spot when she was cleaning. I would sleep in Aiden's room through out the night and not leave me alone. If Aiden wasn't there I wouldn't be here right now. He beat me and my mom almost to death, we barely survived. I have scars on my back from him." I was crying now. I looked up at Barry.

He pulled me into a hug. I laid my head on his chest looking at my mother. My mother started to have a seizure. Aiden stoop up quickly. He ran to the door and opened it yelling. "HELP MY MOTHER IS HAVING A SEIZURE!!!!" Doctors and nurses came in. A nurse grabbed me and started to push me out. "Ma'am you have to leave the doctors need space." "That's my mom!! No!! Mom!! Mom!! Please help her!!" "Ma'am we will do everything we can now please I have to ask for you to leave." She closed the door in my face and I stuffed my face in Barry's chest.

He carried me down in the waiting room. People stared at us but Barry ignored the stares. Once we were out of the hospital Barry ran us to my apartment. He sat me on the couch and got a fluffy blanket and he put on Netflix. We watched some movies till my phone went off an hour later. It was the hospital. I put the phone on speaker. Barry paused the movie.

Hello is this Arabella Smith?

"Yes this is."

ok I work at Central City Hospital and I have news on your mother.

"Ok."

The doctors did CPR on her. They gave her something to help stop the seizures and her brain activity is almost mostly dead. She may not live through out the night.

I hung up and started to sob and cry. "Do you want to go to the hospital?" I nod. He picked me up and turned off the tv I was in the hospital in a second and I ran through the doors. Everyone looked at me and Barry, I ignored it and ran to the elevator Barry behind me I clicked the button and me and Barry went to my mom's room. I saw Aiden holding my mom's hand I grabbed her other hand.

"Mom if you can hear me please get your brain working again I need you still." I whisper in her ear. "Me and Aiden are here with you we can't loos you mom please wake up we love you." I kiss her hand and sit on the chair with Barry on the arm. I closed my eyes and said a prayer under my breath to help my mom heal. I did this 5 times. I looked up and saw Aiden doing the same thing.

Barry was doing a prayer under his breath. After an hour of praying Barry had to go because everyone at STAR labs fo7und Clyde Marden the person who killed the guy earlier. Aiden came over and gave me a hug. He left. I stood up. "Wake up please mother." I kissed her forehead then doctors ran in.

They ran over to my mother. "Is something wrong?" The Doctor looked at me. "No everything is fine your mother's brain activity started up again. She is fine. She will live. She should wake up in a few day's and I will contact you immediately." He was smiling. I had tears flowing down my face smiling. I gave him a hug. "Thank you, Thank you so much." He smiled kindly at me. "No problem Miss Smith go home and sleep." I nod.

I run out and walk on the sidewalk outside. I walk to my apartment and I unlock my door. I go in and lock the door behind me. I take a shirt shower and text Aiden that our mother will wake up soon and she is fine. I plug it in and set an alarm for tomorrow. I soon fall asleep.
