BE WEEB DO CRIMES! (/*-*)/

~Third person POV~

Team HBLL stood in front of a pyre off the road, in a clearing. On top of the pyre was Johnny who had lost his life the day before. Herc held a torch with his head hanging in mourning.

"Johnny was a good friend, he was the glue of the team. He died as he lived, saving others. His memory will live in us," he said as he threw the torch onto the pyre.

As the flames danced across the pyre, the team's cries were audible over the crackling of the fire. Jade consoled Herc and Laff as they cried their eyes out. She shed a few tears herself as the pyre burned. Soon, it began to rain and the team had to get moving. They piled into the moving van and drove off for a while.

The ride lulled everyone to sleep. As the group slept, Kuro kept driving. Unfortunately, lightning struck a tree down, causing it to fall in front of the van, making it flip over and crash. It luckily woke Laff up in time to make a forcefield around the team. As the smoke cleared, the remaining members of HBLL well HBL, looked around.

They moved fast and left the scene and were lucky to find a cave. Jade picked up some sticks and started a fire.

"We should camp here for the night," Herc reasoned. "Let's set up for the night."

~Jade's POV~

I decided to guard the camp tonight. I sat by the fire as the guys slept, the crackling flame and Elric were my companions for the long night. I know very well what killed John, I let my semblance go passive. It's unpredictable when passive, my fortune semblance isn't just being lucky. It's the probability and ability to control it when active I can control other's luck but I get the reverse effect,  in passive I have no control. It relies on cause and effect.

I killed John by being here if I stay any longer, I could get everyone killed when we travel. I need to leave before I can hurt anyone. I stood up and quietly packed up before picking up Elric and leaving.  I trudged through the woods, never turning back. I stopped and put Elric in a bag, letting the cat sleep and giving me the freedom to take out my katana.

I slashed through the grass, branches, and vegetation on my way to a clearing. When I was far enough, I set up camp for the night. I sat in front of my fire with a roasted bird in my hands, occasionally feeding Elric as I ate.

"We'll be home soon, buddy," I reassured him and finished dinner.

I put out the fire and bundled up in my sleeping bag for the night.

I woke up and packed up before leaving again. I ran through the woods, past the thickets and the stream where I gathered water before continuing. I reached a cliff and jumped off, changing into a sparrow midfall. I flew through the sky to a freight train headed central. I landed on the caboose and returned to my human form before hiding behind a bale of hay. I couldn't save John, but you can't save everyone. I of all people should know that, I keep forgetting it.

"I'm a fool, thinking they could help me get home," I sighed as I let Elric out of his bag. "Make yourself comfortable, Elri. We're gonna be here a while."

I pulled an apple out of my bag along with a granola bar. Lunch of champions, I guess. I ate my lunch and leaned against the hay. Guess sometimes, you got to do stuff on your own. It's not ideal but it's true.  I grabbed a tarp and fell asleep for the rest of the trip.

This is what I have to do, because if I don't....

Nobody will. It's central or bust.
