Chapter 12

(Ferryn's P.O.V.)

And finally it was time for the wedding. We had spent all morning getting ready and talking about all sorts of things and just having some fun. We are all in our dresses and waiting for Nat to come tell us it was time for us to walk down. Morgan had a cute little crimson dress that matched the color of mine. We had chairs set up out in the yard with flowers and things framing the isle and an arch at the end of the isle. Pepper is standing at the large mirror looking at her beautiful dress and I'm holding Morgan. A knock comes from the door and I walk over to open it.

"Wow you three look amazing." Nat says as she comes into the room. "Anyway everyone is here, Steve told me to tell you he's giving everyone five to sit down and then he's gonna get Tony out there and start." Steve is officiating the wedding because they really wanted this to just be the closest friends and family.

"Oh, wow it's starting." Pepper says, taking a big breath.

"It's going to be great, don't worry. I'm gonna go find my seat, you two just listen for the music and walk on out. You're beautiful, see you out here." Nat said as she left the room again. Pepper stood with me by the door as I listened and peaked out the window of the door. I could hear her breathing deeper and look back to see her swaying nervously. I was going to go comfort her but I heard Steve start to talk.

"I can hear it starting, we're about to go out there. Calm down. We'll see you soon." I say with a huge smile and then hear the music start.I take just a second to smooth the baby's dress and make sure mine looks ok too. I look back at Pepper to see her smile and I can see the tears already starting. I open the door and walk out. There were only about 20 people out there and that's how they wanted it to be but it felt awkward to walk down the small aisle while everyone just watched. It was less awkward with little goose with me. Everyone just 'awed' at her.Dad and Steve were waiting for us at the end of my walk and I don't think I had ever seen Dad smile so big. I stood next to Dad and he held my hand for a second and squeezed it. The music changed and everyone stood up and watched as Pepper opened the door and started to walk out. I could see Dad start to tear up and I smiled and looked back out to the small crowd. I caught the eye of Harley, who was the only one not watching Pepper, who was looking back at me. He winked and I felt my cheeks blush slightly. Pepper made it down to us and Steve started the wedding speal. Their vows were long and beautiful and had everyone tearing up when Dad mentioned how Pepper was there for him after the whole Thanos thing. Before Dad kisses the bride we had the part of the wedding that included me. I convinced Steve to let me say the famous last part of the wedding. Steve moved out of the way and I stood between them and smiled widely.

"You may now kiss the bride."  I say proudly and Morgan starts laughing. Everyone clapped and Dad and Pepper kissed for the first time as a married couple. "Alright, this isn't a normal wedding so everyone move your chair to a table and help me bring the food out while the newly married couple get to go relax." I say after Dad and Pepper walked into the house. Everyone laughs and they all do as I ask. After we get all the chairs moved and the food out, I turn on some music and Pepper and Dad come back out to eat with us. "Alright I'm sorry to interrupt your talking but as the best man slash maid of honor slash adopted child of these too, I thought I'd say a few things. Ok , I'm gonna keep this short. So I'd like to start with Thank you. Thank you for saving me and taking me in 10 years ago. Dad, you have given me the best life I could have dream of. And Pepper, well Mom. Thank you for being there for me when I needed a girl to talk to. I have had a pretty crazy life, surrounded by all of you. And thank you to all of you for being a part of my life. I also wrote both of you really long letters for you to read on you honey moon because I didn't want to mess up your makeup, or mine, on your wedding day." I said and handed both of them a letter and sat back down at the table. There were lots of hugs after that and we all started back to our meal. After a while everyone was having fun just talking and eating dessert. I feel someone hook their arm through mine and I look up to see Harley. "Hi there." I smile.

"Hello." He smiled back. "You look beautiful." He said and unhooked his arms so he could hold my hand.

"Thank you, you look quite handsome too." I say as I take a good look at his nice suit. "Sorry this wasn't the best first date. We didn't really get to talk much" I say slightly shy again. I wasn't like this usually, I'm not sure why I get so weird around him about certain things. Well mostly when it comes to our relationship.

"Well, I will make sure on our second date we get to hang out more." He said and turned so we were standing quite close with his arms around my waist. "Maybe, go to a fancy dinner, or a picnic, oh or a long walk on the beach." He listed cheesy classic dates, making me laugh.

"Or we can order pizza and watch a movie." I suggest.

"But we do that normally. I thought we could do something more...romantic." He shrugged.

"So we'll eat  pizza on a picnic in central park." I say and feel the nerves start to fade. "And then we go to your place and watch a movie."

"Going back to my place on the first date? Moving a little fast are we?" He smirked, teasing me. It made me get all embarrassed and nervous all over again.

"Oh you know what I mean." I say as my face starts to blush.

"I know, so I'll pick you up at 5 tomorrow?"

"Sound great." And then someone clears their throat, interrupting us.

"Are you two are finally going on a date? About time. I mean I knew you two would date from the first time you met at ten years old. It took over eight years but here we are, I'm right again." Dad smirked as he and Pepper walked over to us.

"Well technically this is our first date. See my tie matches her dress. That apparently means we are on a date."  Harley explains and holds his tie up.

"Ah yes, she has now claimed you as hers. Pep has been picking out my tie for some time now." Dad laughed as he wrapped his arm around Pepper. We talked with them for a while until people started to say their goodbyes. Once everyone left we all went to change into more comfortable clothes to clean up. They weren't leaving for their honeymoon till morning so they're helping me clean up.

"So, should I call you mom now? Or stick with Pepper?" I ask as I pick up the last chair to move it to the stack.

"Pepper is just fine. You're 20 now it'd be weird to start calling me mom now." Pepper says from the porch.

"Well, this one will be calling you mom soon enough." Dad said as he walked back outside with Morgan.

"Yeah, can you say mama? Mama?" Pepper said in a baby voice, trying to get Morgan to copy. Morgan just giggled. "I love this kid but I can't wait for our honeymoon, finally getting some sleep."

"Just wait, tomorrow we'll be in Paris and you will be eating a pastry in some fancy bakery and you'll feel so much better." Dad said as he hugged her from behind.

"And I will be here, in my cabin. Eating leftovers." I sigh dramatically.

"Ha, alone? You will be with Harley." Pepper teased. "The first night we leave you alone with Magoona and you're getting Nat to babysit."

"Speaking of Harley, I don't want any more sleep overs. You aren't just friends anymore and I get to be a protective dad now." Dad explained.

"I know, Dad. And besides I'm taking this slow. I'm still not quite ready for it all, you know." I say and take another sip of my water.

"I know, kid." He said, sitting next to me and wrapping a comforting arm around me. "I'm proud of you. I know how hard all of this is but you have acted like a real grown up through all this. It scares me to see how grown up you are but you are basically an adult now and I'm proud of you. And now I get to see it all over again and this time from scratch." Dad jokes as he tickles Morgan. "Now, we need to go get some sleep, cause the plane leaves early tomorrow. And you should get some sleep too." He said giving me a hug.

"Yeah, goodnight, love you." I say and stand up to hug Pepper too. We both head to our own houses and I start to get ready for bed.
