Chapter 34

(Ferryn's P.O.V.)

Eventually we got to the point that all we had to do was wait. Peter and I just watch the machine as it makes the suit. For whatever reason I feel like I need to make small talk.

"So, you and MJ huh?" I ask out of nowhere. He clears his throat awkwardly and leans back on the wall.

"No, there is no 'me and MJ'." He replies, continuing to watch the machine. "What about you and your boyfriend?"

"We broke up. We decided that we worked better as friends."  I looked at him, hoping he'd catch my hint. His eyes slowly meet mine and I feel my face start to heat up. His eyes flick down to my lips and he starts to lean in. I let my eyes close and-

"Ok Fury's got the coded message- oh, were you two..?" Happy interrupts us and Peter jumps away from me, cheeks blazing. I glare at Happy for interrupting the moment and he just smiles at the two of us.  "Anyway, your friends are at the tower bridge. The idiot called it the London bridge but I figured it out. I'm gonna go scoop em up. Ok?"

"Ok" Peter repeats.

"We're close"

"We're close"  he repeats again.

"How's the suit coming?"

"Almost done."

"Good. Now, you two are gonna go down there and beat the hell out of that guy and come back. Hear me?" We both nod. "Now walk me through it."

"Ok we know it's illusion tech so all we've got to do it get down there and get on the inside of it."  I start explaining.

"Yeah, after we took it down we got to find him. He's just a guy after the illusion stuff is gone. And I can take Edith right back." Peter finishes and Happy nods.

"Right, but last time you got hit by a train."

"True. but this time, well I'm not sure how to explain it. I've got this sixth sense."

"Yeah, yeah. The Peter tingle." I literally snort at this. Peter glares at me as I laugh. "That's what you're talking about right now, but it's not working right now?"

"It is working- well I think it's working."

"Right so, the plan is the Peter tingle, I'm gonna go get your friends and you get the Peter tingle back working." Happy says as he backs back to the driver's seat. I look back at him and start laughing again.

"Peter tingle? I thought we called it the spidey sense?" I laugh and he glares at me.

" I tried to tell May not to call it that." Peter complained and turned back to watch his suit get built.

"Ok Mr Peter tingle, I'm gonna go suit up." I joke with him as I pull out my suit.

"I thought you were helping Happy?" he asks, worriedly.

"No, I'm helping you."

"Or you could help Happy." He suggests and now I'm the one glaring.

"No, you can't be all protective of me. I'm gonna be out there helping you." I cross my arms.

"But Fury said you weren't trained enough to be back on the field."

"Fury also trusted Beck and I never did. That's why I went home, so I could figure out who he really is."

"Ferryn, I can't let you get out there. Beck can put you in situations that you don't know what is real and what isn't. You saw how hurt I got, I can't risk you getting that hurt." I step closer to him and he crosses his arms, trying to be tough. "Ferryn, please. Get on a headset and computer, help me by hacking into the drones."  I quickly get up on my toes and kiss his cheek. He freezes and takes a big gulp.

"I'm helping you, that's fanal. I'm going to suit up, I suggest you do too." I smirk and walk away to get in my suit. I can just imagine how surprised his face looks, but I play it tough and grab my suit without looking back. But what he can't see, is that I have the same stupid smile on my face. We both got suited up just in time to get to the middle of the action.

"Alright you two, this is where I'm dropping you off." Happy says as he opens the door of the plane. Peter and I look at eachother and back at the door.

"Come on, I'll fly us right to the middle." I hold out my hand to him as I start to hover. He takes my hand and we jump out the door.

"Ferryn!" Peter yelled as we free fall right into the caos. 

"Hold on!" I grab his other hand and gracefully start to direct out flight to the large monster.

"It's not real. It's not real. It's not real." We both chant as we fly right into the monster. The middle of the monster was a mess of my father's drones projecting the monster. "Woah."

"Let me go. I can web them together, like we planned. You go get them from the outside." Peter yells over the loud machines.

"Ok, stay safe please."

"You too." He tells me and shoots a web to start connecting the drones. I fly out of the monster and start turning my goggles on so I can see the invisible drones. I use my powers to make drones run into each other and blow up. I see the illusion start to come apart and Peter gets hit by something. I fly as fast as I can to get to him and catch him.

"Hiya, Spiderman. Who's needing the saving now?" I smirk as I fly him down to the ground safely.

"Thanks F- Wait what am I supposed to call you?" He asks as we catch our breath for a moment.

"Uh, did Ned ever give me a name?"

"Well he called you Onyx once, but it was just cause it sounded cool, there was no reason." He shrugged.

"I like it, Onyx is cool." I smile and pull up my hood so my face isn't visible. Suddenly drones start coming at us and we get up and run. I start to fly and a seamless move I pull him up so he gets a good swing.

"Ok, I've got Beck. you go make sure everyone is safe. Ok Nyx?" He calls to me as we run from the explosions.

"Got it Spidey." I call and we split up.
