IT’S LIKE MY mind was on haywire since it can’t process what I just heard. I feel like my ears are fooling me…it’s just that—it’s not…I didn’t expect him to actually say that.

Wait, no…maybe I heard wrong.

Snow suddenly squirmed into my arms, as if reminding me of her presence. I cleared my throat. “Uhh, can you repeat what you said?”

The white lights emphasized the confusion in Herson’s eyes. But just like before, he isn’t fond of knowing the reason behind. I don’t know…I just noticed how he tends to hold himself back from asking.

“I said, she can stay here.”

This time, I’ve confirmed that I heard him correctly. I probably looked silly with the smile creeping up on my face. “Really?

“Ayaw mo ba?”

“No!” agad kong tanggi. “W-wait…I mean, gusto ko! I’m pretty sure Snow would also love to stay here.

“My uncle won’t mind a cat around here.” “Besides, Snow is a good cat. She behaves fine.”

As the night of the storm replayed on my mind, I can’t help but grin as I remember that Herson—the rough guy who’s unsure whether to accept Snow or not. Clearly, his opinion on cats has changed, maybe Snow has digged a spot inside him.

“I thought you weren’t fond of animals. Look at you now,” I teased.

His eyes left Snow and met mine. They were still dark and dangerous-looking—only now I’m slowly uncovering the layers. Maybe what we see on the outside is just a front, and maybe if he will let me dig deeper…I’ll discover what he’s really made of.

Talk about a front, a sly smirk suddenly appeared on his lips. “And whose fault was that?”

Aaaaa…his accent!

Aaaaaaa.
