"babe, we're going to be late! hurry up" ashton shouted towards emma who was still getting ready in the other room.

she had been in there for at least an hour, but ashton and maya were basically forcing the poor girl to come out tonight, so ashton tried to keep his calm. under a miraculous circumstance, luke happened to have a night off while ashton and maya didn't have to work the next morning.

emma was exhausted, which is partially to blame from staying out all night with luke. once she finally got back to her apartment, maya had thankfully left the door unlocked and emma was able to fall asleep - but she didn't. she couldn't stop her mind from racing with thoughts about luke and the night they spent together. it had been a while since she had done something so crazy and adventurous, and she loved every minute of it. and she was surprised luke was the one who made her feel that way.

but emma would push away whatever uneasy feeling creeped its way into her mind when she thought about luke. there was absolutely no way she could be feeling anything other than friendship.

emma had just finished the last touches of her makeup before walking into the kitchen where ashton was impatiently waiting for her. if she had it her way, she would be in bed watching Netflix right now. but she couldn't ignore the smallest part of her wanted to go out tonight, she missed her friends and it had been a while since they were all able to hang out together.

"you look incredible," ashton walked over to her and placed his hands on her waist. "maybe we could have a quickie before we leave?" he arched his eyebrow suggestively at her. he would never rush her again if she looked this good.

"you just said we were running late" emma giggled and rested her hands behind his neck.

"if we're already going to be late, might as well have a good reason for it" he winked at her before pulling her into his room and shutting the door.

the sound of loud music and muffled chatter filled the room as maya, luke and calum were already well past being sober. they were sitting at a table in the back of the bar, waiting for their other friends to arrive.

michael had decided to be the designated driver, also known as babysitting duty. he had spent a majority of the time sitting on his phone and making sure the drunk idiots didn't wander off. michael used to be the life of the party, but when his step-dad was killed in a drunk driving accident, he found himself utterly repulsed just by the smell of alcohol. he cut back on his drinking, only getting drunk a few nights a year. and he always made sure the group had assigned a designated driver —which ensured his friends would always get home safely.

maya was sitting in luke's lap, kissing every inch of his face as she whined about wanting another drink. she was a clingy emotional drunk and had been wanting to dance with luke since they got here, but he was quick to brush it off with a hiccup and a 'maybe later'.

unfortunately for luke, he was overly flirty and very handsy when he got drunk, which was a small problem when your girlfriend was saving herself for marriage. he had to be very careful with his actions; it had been months since he had gotten laid, and the most simple acts could turn him on.

ashton and emma had strolled over to the table and joined the others - fashionably late as usual. luke eyed her outfit and felt a smirk tugging at his lips, but he quickly forced a smile instead as he greeted the pair.

"can we get more drinks now?" maya begged and stood from luke's lap. ashton stood up as well "i'll come with you, I was about to get drinks for emma and I" he slipped his jacket off and handed it to emma. "what would you like to drink, babe?" ashton asked her, causing luke to scoff.
