Seventeen: Unexpected Family

The group of boys were on their way to the hospital. School had ended, and there was no call from Jeonghan through out the day. The group of boys greeted their remaining friends with high fives and side hugs as they made their way into Seokmins room.

The boys were talking amongst themselves, or helping Jun, Mingyu, Jeonghan and Soonyoung with homework. While Minghao was helping Jun with his calculus, he suddenly remembered the banana bread.

I began to feel nervous, I had no idea how I was supposed to give it to mingyu.

"uh, Minghao?"
"huh?"

I was brought out of my trance when mingyu called my name. I turned to meet his gaze, his eyes looked like they held everything that was innocent, and yet they looked so mischievous. I noticed the way his dark brown eyes seemed to sparkle as he looked at me. I noticed mingyus slightly tan skin beaded with a little bit of sweat due to how hot the room was, his mouth was slightly apart and his lips were no longer chapped. His face looked fuller than when this whole situation had started. It felt like I was looking at the real Mingyu. The one who was so childish but so mature. Who loved to smile and crack jokes while making fun of others just to be wary of not hurting their feelings.

I felt my mouth become dry. maybe making these feelings go away would be a lot harder than I thought.

"you were spacing out"
"oh sorry"
I smiled to try and ease the nerves running through my body. We got back to our lesson and finished the homework in no time.

"i'm gonna get some snacks" mingyu got up to leave, but I had stopped him.

"oh! wait."
He turned around and gave me a curious look.

"I uhm- today at lunch Seungcheol said you really like banana bread, and since we had it at school I thought i'd save you some..." I mumbled as I reach in my bag and pulled out his favorite food.
"No way!!" His eyes had somehow managed to light up even more than before, and he had a child like smile plastered on his face.

"Thanks Hao!!" He pulled me into a tight hug before he began to unwrap his bread. This action caused my heart to do some weird summersaults in my chest. I knew the boy was quite touchy, even more so when he was excited, I tried not to think to hard, but even with the small embrace I wished we could do it more often.

A few hours had gone by. Joshua and Jeonghan were on both sides of seokmin, Joshua gently tracing things on Seokmins hand. Minghao snuck a glance at Seokmin, the scars on his arms were still fresh as Joshua traced over them with a solem look. Seokmin had began to gain color back in his face. Minghao chuckled to himself as he thought about how the oddball Seokmin was going to react to the new friends he had. Although Seokmin himself hasn't been here to tell us about himself, his friends hasn't forgotten to talk about what he's like, Seungkwan is very excited to meet him.

Suddenly something caught Minghao's attention.

"guys!"

everyone turned their heads towards me

"I think he's waking up!!"

everyone stood up and quickly made their way to seokmin, sure enough his eyes were started to flutter open, slowly taking in the brightness of the room he was not used to.

"ugh"

Seokmin groaned as his right hand reached up slowly and caressed his left arm, where the scars are left. You could tell Seokmin had no idea he wasn't alone in the room, he seemed scared to open his eyes. Like if he did there would be no one waiting for him.

Joshua reached up and carefully took seokmins wondering hand into his, causing seokmin to jolt

"soonyoung...?"

his voice was hoarse. He finally opened his eyes, what stood in front of him wasn't what he had expected at all, he may have expected soonyoung to be there, but surely not 12 people. Especially not Joshua Hong, who was holding his hand.

"w-whats happening"
Seokmin was obviously very confused,

"not right now minnie~ Im gonna go get the doctor" Jeonghan immediately ran off leaving 11 others in the room.

"seokmin, how do you feel?"
Soonyoung was now by Seokmins side,

"i'm so confused right now, and my body is sore"
"Don't worry the doctor will be here soon"
Joshua said, Seokmin couldn't help but stare.

Why? Why was Joshua Hong here, why was he by my side. Why was he holding my hand, and why, why did he have to have a hopeless crush on the soccer captian.
