I let Reanon hold my hand to pull himself up, I let myself grip tighter. I smiled even tho he couldn't see. Kurio had run out to help Faith get Snow back. I told him I was fine, "be there soon", I had said. I focused on Reanon again. This piece of me felt something, I wasn't proud of it.
That's wrong Atraya
Reanon stumbled into a vase as we left. I caught his arm and he grinned. It wasn't sinister or creepy, it was playful. I laughed loosely then pulled him back onto his feet. I let go and shifted away from him, his grin faded.
"Thanks," he was unsure where to look so I spoke.
"Must be annoying," I say
"It is, especially when you miss it. Sight, colors."
"Miss it?"
"Yeah," he sighed and I took his hand and we walked back ducking in and out of bushes and cover.
Reanon had fell silent and I took a moment to pause. It was night now, the moon was in the sky, a full moon. I remember the last time I had seen it. Before things changed.
"When I was little, I'd go outside my old home and stare at the moon. It was so mysterious to me," I told Reanon because, I'm not sure, I just wanted to.
"What does it look like?" He put his arm over my shoulder and we sat on the grass leaning on a tree.
"It emits a blue glow, a calm glow not as bright as the stars around. There are dark circles..." I laugh," I'm not great at explaining things."
"No," he faces me and smiles, pushing a dark piece of hair from his face he says:"your perfect."
I gape at that, unsure what to say. I hear a cough behind me.
"I was just coming to find you guys."
I turn and see who it is, to make sure I heard right. I pray it isn't him.
"Kurio," I pull from Reanon and stand," I was just telling Reanon what the moon looked like since, he hasn't..."
"I get it," his voice shakes, upset.
Kurio turns to walk away and I grab his arm. We are almost at the school. I pull him close to me.
"Atraya, I think I'm falling in love with you"
"What?"
Kurio pull me closer, our lips touch, we kiss. For a minute I'm completely frozen, then I pull away. My eyes are horrified, Kurio sees it and grimaces. I watch him hurry away muttering an apology.
"I thought you liked me too," he said
"Kurio I'm, look I'm sorry," my voice is breaking," it doesn't feel right."
"Doesnt- doesn't feel right?!How is it suppose to feel?"
"I dont-" my heart was broken
"Just stop- just-"
"Kurio!" I scream," Kurio!! I wasn't ready, I can't handle relationships that I care about! I'm scared something will go wrong, I will be broken,"my voice softens," please."
He pauses and looks at me from across the field," really?"
"Yes," my throat is sore now.
Tears are running down my face. I turn to Reanon and help him up. We walk in silence to Kurio. I wipe my tears away as I hold hands with Kurio. Reanon is to my right and Kurio is to my left. We hurry inside, who knows who could've heard.
