9 - Food Bribes
"Did you see this shit?!"
Trunks glanced up from his computer, surprised by Goten's language more than his intrusion into his office. His best friend came and went whenever he wanted, but Goten usually wasn't the type of person to use foul language. If Goten was cussing, then it was usually a sign that he was a little more than annoyed.
"Did I see what?" Trunks furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"This garbage!" Goten huffed, and he threw a magazine down on Trunks' desk.
Trunks looked at the cover of the magazine and frowned. She was on it. "I guess her agency found someone to put her on a cover of a magazine," he commented. "I'm surprised, honestly. I figured after the nasty email Marron sent to her agency that they would break her contract. Not to mention her recent DWI."
Goten began to pace across Trunks' office. "This makes me so mad!"
Trunks watched him in mild amusement. Truthfully, Goten got more upset over the things that that woman did than Trunks did. It had taken several years, but Trunks had learned to not let it bother him. Whatever she did was none of his business, and he didn't care as long as she stayed away.
"Look at her!" Goten snarled in the direction of the magazine. "Smiling and everything! She doesn't even look like she had a kid!"
"That's the way she wanted it, remember?" Trunks asked. He definitely remembered it, considering he was the one that had to pay for all of her surgery.
"I know, it just pisses me off," Goten muttered. He sat down in the seat across Trunks' desk with a huff. "She walks around with no responsibility at all. It's like karma hasn't even touched her."
Trunks shrugged his shoulders. "She didn't want the responsibility, and it's a good thing she didn't stick around to try to handle it. It would have been bad-" he cringed at the thought of the idea of her still being in his life. One year had been bad enough; he was thankful he didn't have to put up with her for eighteen more years.
Goten let out a heavy sigh. "Panny's going through that same thing with that bastard."
Trunks felt a tick of aggravation then. In his book, Shun was just as bad as the woman was especially after what he had said to Pan after knowing she had said she wanted to keep the baby. As far as Trunks knew, Shun hadn't contacted Pan since then. He had probably told his parents the lie Pan had said and was now living with no responsibility.
"Think of it as a blessing," Trunks said, not only to Goten but to himself as well. "Do you really want Panna to be stuck putting up with that asshole?" Trunks tried to imagine Pan still being with Shun. He imagined them going to doctor appointments and walking a baby stroller together, and his stomach tightened with heat.
"Hell no," Goten shuddered. "I think I would have ended up killing him."
Trunks' lips twitched. "I think Panna would have done it before you," he chuckled as he remembered her punching Shun. He wished he had caught that on camera.
Goten laughed, "yeah, probably. She's gotten such a temper on her since she's gotten pregnant. Just the other day she smacked me on the chest and nearly made me fall over! I had a red hand print on my chest for hours!" He said dramatically.
Trunks rolled his eyes. "Marron told me about that. She said you snuck into Panna's room and ate her candy. I'd say you deserved it."
Goten huffed and crossed his arms. "Everyone's always on her side," he muttered.

It was the last week of May, and Pan was now 30 weeks pregnant. Her stomach had grown huge, and it had become difficult to do tasks that she had always taken for granted. Thankfully, she had wrangled the help of Trunks and Goten to put together the baby's crib and changing station. They were also helping her rearrange her room so everything would fit. Pan hadn't been able to do much except for keeping Hana entertained. They curled up on the couch and watched old movies and ate gummy snacks while the men worked.
