16 - I Love You

Pan zipped her last suitcase and let out a laugh. Trugo was standing across from her and she smiled at him. He could pull himself up and balance as long as he was holding onto something. He still hadn't taken his first steps yet.

"Mama!" He called.

"Hi, Baby," Pan smiled wider as she saw two of Trugo's bottom teeth. "That's my last suitcase. Are you ready to go home?" She asked.

He yelled, his body rocking in what Pan could only assume was a yes.

"Me too!" She reached over and picked Trugo up. "Three months have been way too long! Are you ready to see Trunks and Hana?" Pan asked. She was more than ready to see them!

Trunks and Hana had visited them several times over the past three months, but with Capsule Corp gearing up for their summer sales, Trunks had been extra busy. They hadn't had a chance to visit in almost a month. But it was fine because Pan was now done with her cooking course. She had passed it with flying colors and she and Trugo would be back home by that evening. They would get to see Hana, but they would still have to wait a few days for Trunks. He had to run to East City for a sudden business meeting.

Pan let out a heavy sigh. She talked to Trunks daily, and they faced time every night. Some nights, Pan would read Hana and Trugo a story, and some nights Trunks would. Then it was just Pan and Trunks on the phone, talking quietly to not wake the sleeping children. They always fell asleep talking to each other. Pan wished more than anything that Trunks would be there to welcome them home, too.

"Panny?" Goku knocked on the bedroom door before opening it. He had been staying at the guest condo with Pan, Chi-Chi, and Trugo for the last week to help them pack. He would be riding back to Poazu with them, too. "All of Trugo's things are in the car except for his diaper bag," he said with a smile. "Are your suitcases ready?"

"I just have to capsule them and then they will be," Pan said. "Thanks for helping us, Papa."

"Of course," he nodded. "I'll be glad to have you three back home."

"I bet it's Mama's food you've missed the most," Pan teased.

"Pan?" Chi-Chi came into the bedroom. She had a white box in her hands. "This just arrived for you."

"What?" Pan's brows furrowed in confusion. She stood up and gave Trugo to Goku before she took the white box. It was tapped up, and the address of the condo was nearly printed on it, but there was no return address. "It's a little late for anyone to send a care package," she muttered.

Gently, Pan peeled off the tape to the box and opened it. There was a piece of notebook paper, and she picked it up, instantly noticing the handwriting.

"Who's it from?" Chi-Chi raised an eyebrow.

"It's from Bulla," Pan smiled.

Chi-Chi laughed and nodded her head. "Probably a welcome home present for you. Goku -" she turned towards her husband. "Let's feed Trugo first before we get on the road."

Pan sat on the bed and read Bulla's letter once her parents walked out of the room.

Panny,

I went over to your house the other day to clean out your closet for you as a surprise for when you came back. You and I both know you're a little hoarder.

However, I happened to notice your old iPhone on your nightstand. You know me - I'm nosey - I'm not denying it. I charged the phone, and the old pictures and videos on there were both cringy and hilarious. However, that last picture wasn't too bad, and the last video - DAMN!!
