Chapter 1 - she killed her

Hope's POV:

I was walking down the hall when I saw Dr.Saltzman murmuring something to himself, he looked so angry so I decided to listen to what he said. "I'm going to kill her once I find her" he said angrily, and honestly? I was more confused than worried, why would he want to kill someone and more importantly – who?

I walked towards him "Hey Dr.Slatzman is everything alright?" I asked, he looked at me and his face gave it away.

"She killed her. She killed sheriff Mac" I knew that Alaric and the town sheriff had a "thing" going on between them, what I didn't know was who is "she" and why would she kill the sheriff?

I walked to the Saltzman twins' dorm to tell them the "news" and to ask them if they know something.

I knocked on the door and Josie opened the door "hey Hope what's up?" Josie asked, she was wearing a red long sleeved shirt and a short school skirt. She looked beautiful and happy and I felt so sad to ruin her mood with what I'm about to say. "Hey Jo can I come in? I need to tell you and Lizzie something" I told her with a hint of sadness in my voice.

Josie looked at me a little bit confused but soon after that she let me in. "So, the thing that you wanted to tell us??" Josie asked me cutting me from my own thoughts "Right yes umm, you might want to sit for this one" both her and Lizzie sat on Lizzie's bed." before I came here I bumped into your father and he threatened to kill someone. I don't know who but he told me that some woman killed sheriff mac" I told them and they were shocked "WHAT?!" they asked/screamed in unison, I just nodded not knowing what to say. "But dad was so happy with her, although I couldn't stand her, they both loved each other so much, she made him happy" Lizzie said "He wanted to propose to her tomorrow" Josie added heartbroken from the news. The moment Josie told me that I knew that Alaric will do everything in his power to get revenge on the killer.

Josie's POV:

I was speechless. I liked sheriff mac, I mean I didn't like the fact that she is going to be around us all the time while my real mom is not, but she made dad happy and that made me happy, but now I'm worried that dad will go down through a dark path like he did when Jo died and will do something bad that we won't be able to fix.

But who could have killed her? And why? And why hope sounded so nervous when she told the news? Was it because dad told her something? Ugh I'm so confused right now. I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn't notice that Lizzie was basically screaming in my face to get my attention "Sorry what did you say?" I asked, finally noticing her "WHAT I SAID IS that we need to see dad before he loses his mind" she told me half shouting. "I don't think it's a good idea. I think we need to give him a day or at least a couple of hours to come to his senses before we talk to him. You saw what happened with Jo, I don't want this to happen again Lizzie" I said to her.

"You know what? For once I totally agree with you Jo" she said smiling. We kept talking and laughing with each other until we both fell asleep in Lizzie's bed.
