Chapter 6 - Anxiety attack

A/N - still in the flashback. last one though...

Sheriff Mac's POV

Something weird is going on with Alaric's daughters and their auburn-haired friend.

At the beginning I thought my eyes are tricking me but when I saw them in the town square and two seconds later they disappeared I knew something was off.

Today was the annual Timberwolves vs Stallions football game so I have a chance to dig into it while my kids play, while also spend some time with Ric. He and I grew very close to each other and we go out for dinner once a week, he is a nice guy but I need to figure out his daughters thing...

We arrived at the Salvatore school field, the team shook hands and the game started. We were leading for the entire first half and now it was break time. I decided to walk around until some red glow caught my eyes, I looked for its source – Alaric's daughters.

What the hell?

"Girls are you okay? What's going on here?" I asked catching them off guard.

"N-nothing...We are good... Why?" they asked at the same time, I chuckled a bit "well your hands were glowing" I paused at least I think they did "are you sure you're good?" they nodded, they are clearly not but I shrugged it off and went inside to cool down, as it was a really hot day outside.

What I saw knocked me off from my feet.

I was sitting in the library, watching closely as Caroline was putting books on a shelf, suddenly the shelf broke and all the books fell on the ground. She bent down to lift them but stopped when one of her students came in and called her "Mrs. Salvatore I'll do it" it was the auburn girl. The girl mumbled some words in a different language which I guess was Latin and lifted her hand in the air, the books went up in the air and back to a different shelf.

"Thank you, Hope. Now, go back to the game, the girls are playing and somehow they managed to convince their father to let them use their magic" Caroline said. Wait. Did she say MAGIC?!? What is going on here???

The game ended and for the first time in forever, we lost. Surprisingly, there wasn't any fight after it. While the kids got on the bus I was walking to Ric's office to say goodbye and ask him some questions about today.

I knocked on the door and entered the room. Alaric was sitting with his daughters, Hope and Caroline. "Sheriff, how can we help you?" Caroline asked, "Is everything alright honey?" Ric added

"I'm good I just have some questions about today's game if you don't mind..." I replied

"Girls go up to tour room we'll talk later" he said, the girls nodded and left the office

"Let's get started..."

Lizzie's POV

We walked out of my dad's office but didn't go so far away before Hope stopped and closed her eyes "Hope what are you doing?" I asked her slightly confused "Shhh I'm listening" she answered, not opening her eyes. I looked over my sister, she shook her head as if saying 'I don't know'.

"Hope, may I ask what are you listening to?" Josie asked. Hope sighed loudly "Your parents and the sheriff" she said, still not opening her eyes. We stood there in silence, waiting for Miss Mikaelson here to tell us what she heard.

"They are talking about today's game" she started "She saw you use your magic, wait" she paused "No she only saw your hands glow" Josie and I sighed in relief

"FUCK" Hope said/screamed

"What?" we asked her

"She saw me using magic to help your mom in the library" this is not good. Hope hates it when locals see her do magic, she started to breathe heavily "Hope let's go to your room okay?" I asked and she nodded. We got into her room and lost control over her breathing, Hope fell to her knees, struggling to take deep breaths, like she has been running for days and she started to cry.
