I woke up with a sleeping angel in my arms. I was holding Josie tightly the entire night, protecting her from I don't know what. Don't get me wrong, Josie is extremely powerful and capable of protecting herself, but I sleep better knowing that she is with me, safe and sound.
I looked at the time, at 10 am. Looks like a good time for breakfast. I got up quietly, trying as hard as I can not to wake Josie up and left the room. I walked in the kitchen to see the entire family making breakfast, well, the girls making food while the boys arguing over god knows what.
"Good morning guys" everyone stopped what they were doing to face me "Hi kiddo" Marcel was first to greet me and soon was followed with the rest of the family. I walked over to my parents and gave them a long very needed morning hug. I still can't believe that they are here.
After hugging everyone I helped Aunt Davina and Aunt Freya make waffles and other stuff for breakfast, but something felt off, like they wanted to ask me something but didn't.
"Okay ask whatever you want to ask I can't deal with this awkwardness."
Uncle Kol got up from his chair "Does Josie treat you well? Does she make you happy?"
I smiled "Josie is the best thing that could ever happen to me. She helped me when I was grieving over mom and dad, she was there for me when I needed her the most, and ever since we became official she did nothing but giving me reasons to wake up every day with a smile."
"Aww look Kol she is blushing." Auntie Bex said to my uncle and it made me blush even harder, but soon mom came to rescue me.
"Bex stop it you're embarrassing her."
"Fine fine I'll stop."
Soon Lizzie and Caroline joined us as we got the table ready for breakfast. Josie was still asleep, at least that's what I thought because a second later my phone buzzed.
