Jun Hui wasn't in bed as JaeSung thought he was.He was standing by the window that overlooked some of the buildings and she was sure she could see the Namsan tower from here.

"Have you eaten yet?"She asked and he shook his head.She frowned and looked up at him,her frown deepening as she saw how red his eyes were.A guilty feeling washed through her as she remembered she wasn't the only one suffering from this.Jun Hui was their literal son,he was their only child and they had hired someone to kill her,the girl who had been in almost every memory since he was born.

"How are you?"She asked and Jun Hui shook his head.

"I'm not the one they plotted to kill,Jiejie."He said,his voice tense as he crossed his arms.JaeSung sighed as she opened her arms and Jun Hui hesitated.JaeSung shook her head and pulled him into a hug.

She placed his hands on her sides."I am here.I am fine."She moved his hand to her chest so it was just above her heart."I'm fine,my heart's beating and I'm breathing.If they want to get rid of me,they'll have to try a whole lot harder than what they've pulled."

It seemed that was enough for him to break as he tightened his grip on her as if to make sure she was there,safe and in one piece.She ran a hand through his unruly hair as his body shook with sobs.They were pained and gut-wrenching,and JaeSung had to force her own tears down as she soothing rubbed his back with her other hand,whisper reassurances as she let him get it all out.

Jun Hui never really went through so many emotions in a short span of time.One minute he was in the living room waiting for Lena to come home and the next minute,Lena was begging him to listen to her and then she unloaded everything on him.

He went through denial first.There was no way in hell his parents would do that to JaeSung.They loved her like she was their own and even put her on the family register.Just even the thought of his parents purposely hurting her made him boil with anger.

Then it was realization.

He was the one who was telling his mom about JaeSung's whereabouts.He was telling her who she was meeting,what she was doing,where she was going and personal things he told her in confidence about JaeSung.

It made sense on how the media got ahold of things he told his mother.

Then the guilt came in and that was just a mess.

The whole week that JaeSung locked herself up,he was pacing his room and breaking down every other hour.

Even after JaeSung came and yelled at him,he wasn't able to get over the initial shock of what his parents dared to do.

So he allowed himself this moment.He allowed himself to fall apart in his older sister's arms as she barely hung on to her own safe line.

Once he was composed and his tears stopped running,JaeSung pulled him out of the room,leading him to the living room where everyone was gathered at.

Sung Hoon was manning the gas stove as Max cut up some vegetables while Alex made some side dishes and Lena was getting the plates,Sunni was sitting in Sung Hoon's lap as she made a conversation with him.

Despite only being three years old,she was able to understand and respond in almost complete sentences.

While Jun Hui went to help Lena,JaeSung found herself in Alex's arms a lot quicker than she expected.

"Please,never ever do that again."He begged,"I think I lost twenty years when I heard what you did."

JaeSung chuckled as Alex pulled away and cupped her check,and she smiled at him.

He returned the smile before it dropped and he was harshly pinching her cheek.

"What did Ren say about this,huh?Do you know he almost broke down my door?"Alex scolded as JaeSung whined at him to let her cheek go.

"What about you!?"JaeSung shouted,grabbing Alex's cheek."I told you not to let me go under any circumstances!"

Alex rolled his eyes,"You punched me and ran!"

The two continued to bicker as Sung Hoon sighed,staring at the two tiredly.While he was glad the two were together,they were also incredibly heavy towards each other.He sometimes wondered if the jokes they had were actually jabs at each other and if that was healthy at all.

He shook his head as Alex grabbed JaeSung by the waist and flung her over his shoulder like the sack of potatoes she was.

He'll have a conversation with them later,preferably after JaeSung's birthday that was rapidly approaching.

"Alright you fucking gremlins,the food's ready!"He shouted and Sunni looked at him with wide eyes.

"Am I a fucking gremlin,uncle?"Sunni asked and Sung Hoon cursed himself for not watching his language around Sunni.

"No baby,you're a pretty fairy,but how about we don't say that word around your brother,okay?"He asked,brushing some of her messy hair out of her face.

"Is it a secret?"She asked,lowering her voice and slightly hunching over,and Sung Hoon almost cooed at how adorable she was.

"Mhmm,a secret between you and me."

Sunni giggled and wiggled in his lap as the others finally came to sit down.

"What's a secret?"Alex asked and Sunni turned away from him giggling.

JaeSung laughed as she sat down next to Alex while Lena and Jun Hui sat across from them.

"Sunni,who's your favorite out of all of us?"Max asked and the others groaned,this will only lead to them trying to become Sunni's favorite.This had occurred almost five times since Sunni learned all their names.

"Uncle Hoonie!"Sunni shouted and everyone else groaned as Sung Hoon peppered Sunni's face with kisses as the young girl squealed with happiness.

They all quieted down and continued to eat peacefully.

"What are we doing for your birthday?"Alex asked,turning to look at JaeSung who shrugged,not catching the look Lena,Max and Jun Hui shared.Alex did catch on though and he gave them a look,tilting his head and narrowing his eyes at them.Max only smiled,winking at him before continuing to eat.

"Isn't hyung's birthday in a few days?"Jun Hui asked and JaeSung froze.She zoned out for a moment,trying to remember everyone's birthday before gasping.

"There are so many september birthdays."She mumbled as she wiped her mouth and pulled up her phone."It's tomorrow!How could I forget!?"She shouted,seeing that it was August 31st.

"To be fair,you forgot my birthday."Sung Hoon said and JaeSung glared."But you didn't forget Sunni's and we have the same birthday."

Max choked on his drink,not believing JaeSung would do that,but then again,she was forgetful with certain things.

"It's only ten thirty,I'll text him before I go to bed."JaeSung said,tossing her phone to the side again.

"Did you get him anything?"Lena asked,grabbing some of the meat.

JaeSung nodded,"I ordered something back in July and it's under my bed."

"Wait,you bought him something for him but it slipped your-"JaeSung had leaned over and shoved a lettuce wrap into Jun Hui's mouth.

"Don't call out my mistakes,"JaeSung said,sitting back down.Alex only laughed as Jun Hui shook his head as he ate the ssam.

"You're a mistake."Jun Hui said and JaeSung choked on her water.

"So are you,but you don't see me saying anything."She responded after she stopped choking.

Sung Hoon sighed,setting his chopsticks down and standing up.

"Let's go to bed,bud."He said,letting the little girl curl into him as he walked towards his room.He noticed she was starting to nod off while they were eating,but she was up since the early morning and spent the whole day playing.

When he came back,JaeSung was sitting on Alex's lap and Jun Hui was straddling Lena while Max continued to eat.

"You know what,sleep sounds great right now."
