Part 14 - The Siren Age

She had killed almost everyone that night in the club. The young woman walked outside in her gorgeous black dress which exposed her back. She hummed while she followed an injured man. He fell under her wicked charm. Before he knew it, the siren stood in front of him. She smiled at him with her gorgeous golden eyes and then without any hesitation ripped his heart out. She dropped it on the ground, wiped away the blood of her mouth with her right hand and licked the remaining drops with her tongue. "You are making quite a name for yourself, Red Housewife," the siren heard. She turned to see a beautiful blonde sitting on a bench drinking a glass of wine. She looked like the Marilyn Monroe of her time, delicious, the siren thought. "You made yourself my next meal, darling," she said and rushed towards the woman. "I can't read your mind," the siren realised as she stood in front of the woman, "you are a Siren too." The streetlights exposed her face to the woman. It was Serena. She looked different than usual: her eyes had turned gold, her hair was short and curled like everyone did back in the twenties and her smile? Her smile was beyond wicked.

"And you are cold, sweetie," the woman said while she looked into her golden eyes. "Your eyes seem to be gold. Interesting, you must have abandoned your emotions. For what? Men?" She continued to drink from her glass of wine.

"No man is worth my emotions," Serena said with a grin. She saw another man gasping for air. He had slowly crawled out of the club. She walked towards him. She smiled even more wicked than before. Serena put her high heels onto his throat. The man choked to his death. "See? No emotion necessary for this."

The siren laughed at her. "Sweetie, everything is more fun with emotions. Watch and learn." She grabbed another survivor by his throat. Serena saw her strength being filled by rage. She smiled and smiled as the man kept trying to get himself out of her touch but the siren was too strong. She dropped him. "Emotions make us more powerful than you imagine it to be, Red. I don't need my eyes glowing or turned to feel cold."

"I prefer my own method, miss," she looked at the siren's eyes. Her green eyes were just like human eyes. "I prefer Mistress," Serena heard. "Mistress? You are that serial killer from the newspapers. You have worked with the other big names," Serena said with interest. "You killed towns, cities. Countless people. I recognise you now. I never expected you to be a Hollywood sweetheart, Trice Pierce, isn't it."

"You finally met the competition, darling," Trice laughed. "And you are?"

"Rena, sweetie," Serena smiled back.

"Trice, did you bring back something to drink? This party is dead," shouted a beautiful woman in the distance as Trice and Serena entered the building. She appeared to be in her early twenties. She had one charming smile that could literally kill you with her green eyes. She wore diamond earrings which matched her half diamond half black lace dress. Her hair was pushed back behind her ears except for a left-shaped blond lock. She turned around and saw the sirens. "Where did you find Goldie, Trice?" she asked while she observed Serena's appearance. "She has one cold nature. Let me guess, you found her in the freezer where they keep the ice as well," the woman said with sass.

"Rena, I want to introduce you to Meredith Reed, you might know her better as Nightmare. Her companions have turned cold too. Yet they managed to stay alive for so long." Serena tried to hide her curiosity but failed in front of her older sirens. "Nice try. You wonder why, don't you, Rena? Well, they have control in their emotions, even when cold. You can see it right there. Look at that sparkling in her eyes." She pointed her finger at the other woman in the room. She had short dark brown hair which matched her cold dark eyes. She wore a long black dress which covered everything but her arms. She made eye contact with Meredith.
