"Class, today we are going to start with the most crucial part of history in your entire life," said Mr. Richardson with his most exciting look on his face. He was absolutely thrilled. "The Golden Age of Piracy."
"I bet you five dollars he will start about Sweet River in just within a minute," whispered Jack as he lain towards Serena.
"Deal," she kindly smiled while glancing at him for just a bit.
"While most teachers teach you about pirates like Blackbeard, Captain Davy, and so much more of those well known pirates. It is my job as your history teacher to educate you about your own history and ancestors. The pirate history in Sweet River," the students heard.
"I told you," laughed Jackson as Serena gave him five dollars while giving him the eye roll.
"- it is the tale of a fisherman. Brown, James, Jones, Smith, Riverson. Names of people you know. Why are these particular names so important to us? Want to enlighten us, Smith?"
"Because these fishermen were also important pirates during The Golden Age of Piracy!" yelled Jackson.
"Exactly! Well said, Smith. Your ancestors were a part of the crew of The Lady. A glorious ship which we still haven't found till this day! It is still a mystery how these pirates decided to settle down exactly here but they were the ones who founded Sweet River," Mr. Richardson peeked at Jack and Serena in the back for a moment and then he continued his story.
"Mr. Richardson seems very interested in this pirate history," whispered Serena to Jack while leaning towards him. "Is he perhaps one of those legacies?"
"No," Jack paused as he saw their teacher turning around to look at the back of the class. "He is just very obsessed with our history. Rumours are said his wife divorced him because she couldn't handle his obsession with Sweet River."
"That sounds.."
"Sad right?"
"Pearl! Smith! Do I have to send you two to the principal's office on the second day of school!"
"No, sir. Serena and I-"
"I was asking if there are any books on this. As I am new, I feel like I am not caught up enough on this beautiful local history," interrupted Serena, smiling at Mr. Richardson.
She is an awfully good liar..
"As much I don't like students talking with each other while I am talking, Miss Pearls. I would recommend picking up 'Tale of A Fisherman' in the school library. That would bring you up to date for our lessons," smiled Mr. Richardson.
"Thank you, sir. And my apologies for interrupting you."
"Next time, just ask me instead. It is my job after all. Where was I?"
"William Smith. The captain of The Lady," said Jane who had been taking notes of literally everything he had just said.
"Thank you, Miss Brown. As I said.."
How could she lie that good?
Like that was some secret agent lying shit.
What else does she lie about?
I have to find out..
"Sorry for the interruption, Henry. I found these two wandering around the hallways," said Miss Weatherfield as she opened the door of the classroom to escort the Royce boys in.
