It was late in the evening when Trice came to see Serena. The other sirens were asleep. She had brought a bottle of blood with her. Trice knew how the procedure went: torture, starve and turn. However, Trice was in a hurry after the unexpected twist of Serena's mysterious ally. She couldn't afford waiting a century or two for Serena to have the Sparkling slowly mastered. She had to get Serena on her side as soon as possible, if she wanted to succeed.
"I heard you put up quite a fight against Meredith's way of torture, Rena. Refused to answer who the other Siren was, even after her motherly speech about eyes. She must mean something to you, the other Siren. I admire that," Trice said. She poured a small dose of blood into a glass and offered it to Serena. "It is not poisoned, unlike their companion: Violet. Your fellow Siren must be quite the poison expert." Serena ignored what Trice told her and took the glass behind the bars. She began to drink it. "I get it. You are probably thinking that I am cruel for bringing you to this place. It was just such a waste to see a good potential Siren go cold. I wonder what event caused you to be this way in the first place." Serena put down the glass on the floor of the cage. "Was it love? Betrayal? Vengeance?"
"Why do you care so much," Serena stated boldly. "Maybe I just didn't feel like feeling on its own anymore."
Trice giggled a little. "Everyone here in this club of immortal serial killers knows that being cold doesn't just happen. It is made," she said perfectly calm while revealing her ocean yellow eyes.
"You just turned cold," said Serena carefully without trying to show her interest, "while nothing overly emotional happened here."
"Rena, Rena. The pain will always be there. Even when the emotion isn't showing on your face. It haunts your mind, your soul." Her eyes faded back to green. "I managed to control my emotions however I want them to be. It takes centuries, ages, on your own. Maybe, you will learn it too one day, or not. We shall see." The sirens heard noises coming from upstairs. "For the sake of your own fate: I was never here, Rena," she said before rushing upstairs without making a sound.
A few minutes later the door opened once again. This time it was Meredith who came down the stairs with a young woman Serena hadn't seen before. She wore a long sleeve black dress with shining through ends that showed her almost angelic skin, it glanced and glanced in the light. Her short dark blond was sided next to her face that had a pure and soft charm channeling out to everyone in the room. The young woman had to be turned younger than Meredith. Most likely she was around Serena's age of turning. She was one of those rare cruel beauties you meet once a lifetime. An elegant young lady, well, an elegant young Siren.
"Rena, I would like you to meet Adele. She is the one who does all the organisation behind our kills. You could call her the mastermind of serial killers. Our little genius. She was the one to say that we wanted you. I still don't see why I would want you in our sisterhood," said Meredith while glancing at the beautiful young one smiling. Adele sat down, grabbed her pen and notebook and then looked at the other two sirens. "She is here today to observe your behaviour. So, Rena, why would you change yourself? Why not change your hair? I used to be a beautiful cursed redhead. It was the first thing I changed when it got introduced to society. It is much easier than being a soulless monster, as the papers call us Sirens, both warm and cold."
"Meredith, say all you want. I prefer staying the way I am," stated Serena with her perfect 'go screw yourself' smile.
"You should be so thankful that Adele sees something in you that I don't see, Rena. Unlike the Sarto girls, I do not have the potential. I cannot master the Sparkling. If I ever turn cold again, it takes, well, ages for both Adele and Lucas to get me back in my original state."
