(Chapter 11) The Odairs house

•••Katniss pov•••

Were about to walk out of the door, when the phone rings.
"I'll get it! You get the kids in the car."
I yell picking up the phone.
"Hello, this is Katniss Mellark, who is this?" I say into the phone.
"Hey Katniss it's Annie, I heard y'all were coming over and I just wanted to tell you that we have dinner ready so you guys can come on over." she says back to me.
"Ok sounds good, well be there in about 10 minutes." I tell her.
"Sounds great, see you then."
Peeta looks up at me with a weird look.
"who was that?"
"Oh it was Annie, she has dinner all made and says we can come over." I say back while walking to the door.
"Ok, well let's go." Peeta motions for me to walk outside and into the car.
I look back at Willow as I get in to see her all dressed up with her hair curled and some lipstick on.
"You look pretty, Willow." I say nicely.
"thanks mommy." she says back with an almost embarrassed look.
"Why are you all dressed up Will?" Peeta asks looking over to me with a smirk on his face.
"Umm... I don't know... I felt like it."
"Oh, ok I see... you like him don't you?"
"DAAAD!" Willow yells.
"Ok,Ok, I'll stop." Peeta says back to her with a look of sorry in his eyes.
But I've known him too long to think he would actually be sorry.
"I can see why you like him Will, Fins a cute boy." I say looking at her.
"Ya I noticed, now can we stop talking about this please." she asks
"Well... ok if you say so." I say back before looking back at the road.
After a couple of minutes we pull up to their house and walk up to the front porch.
I knock on the door and fin answers after a couple of seconds.
"Hey, Willow, her mr. and mrs. Mellark, hey Rye." he says
"H..H..Hi Finley, what's up?" Willow says scratching the back of her head.
We walk in the door as Fin answers her question. And then he leads us into the Kitchen, were Annie then turns around from the stove to meet us.
"Hey, how are y'all? It's been awhile."she asks.
"Were great, how are you?"
Well, Fins getting really excited to start 5th grade and I've been working on a new project for His room." She says back.
"Oh ya I forgot Fin was a year older than Willow and... His room?" I say confused.
"Oh, ya I forgot to tell you. We are redoing Fins room. He wanted something different and I thought it would be something fun to work on together so ya." She explains.
"Well, that sounds fun, I should do something like that with the kids." I say back to her.
"You should, it's a great thing to keep you busy and you get something out of it as well. It's like a two in one deal. So... who's ready to eat." She says looking at Rye.
"Ooo meee, mee!" Rye yells.
"Well then let's get some food, shall we." Annie says.
"We shall." Willow answers.
After we all get our food we sit down at the table and eat.
5 minutes later I look over at Rye and his plate it totally empty.
"Wow Rye were you hungry?" I ask with a grin on my face.
"Yess, yes I was." Rye says back giggling between words.

I finish my food and bring my plate to the sink. Then once everyone is done the kids run upstairs to play while me, Peeta and Annie sit down and talk.
"So I was wondering if y'all wanted to come with me and Fin to District 4 next weekend, they have lovely beaches down there and I've heard their are some amazing, quiet houses you can rent right along the shore line." Annie says.
"That sounds great, what day and time are y'all leaving?" I question.
"Next Monday at 11:30am." she says back.
"Great, sounds fun, well be there." I say getting up from the couch.
"Oh and the beach houses are 3 bedroom houses so y'all would each be able to have your own room."
"Wow, that seams nice, can't wait." I say right as the kids come running down the stairs.
"You can't wait for what mommy?" Willow asks confused.
"Oh nothing... nothing, you'll find out later." I say
"Well, we'll see you guys next week." Annie says winking at me as we walk out the door.
"Yep, see you then." I yell back getting into the car.
I absolutely can Not wait to tell the kids, they're gonna flip.
