[POV Patton]

Meanwhile...

The night was so calming to gaze upon. The time was around 11pm, me and Logan had left to hang out with our mutual friend, Emile Picani, maybe 3 hours ago? It was so nice to catch up with him! Turns out he had finally gotten all qualifications needed to be a therapist like he had been trying to achieve for years! I was over the moon proud for him! We had gone out to get a meal together at a local diner in town and after a few hours of catching up, Emile headed home by himself, leaving me and Logan by ourselves.
I missed that man, catching up with him was so fun.
But for now, me and Logan were sat at an aged, wooden bench together near the centre of town, gazing up at the stars that flickered above us. A cool breeze brushed itself through my hair which I couldn't help but smile at.

"You know, tonight almost felt like high school again," I turned to Logan and mentioned, "me, you, Emile, just acting like we used to together! Don't you think?"

The thing was, us three had been friends closer than you can imagine through the whole of high school. Since the very beginning, we were virtually inseparable. But then, we got older. Became young adults. Emile left to take his own higher pathed education in therapy. Logan stayed here with me to study psychology while I studied counselling. We both repeatedly asked Emile if he wanted to move into the spare room in our house but every single time we got the same answer. And then Roman moved in with us. And then...Virgil.

"It really is. But that man... has not changed one bit," Logan gave a silent chuckle under his breath. I never really understood why he wasn't that keen on expressing how he feels openly? You'd think after all these years he'd become even a bit more expressive, but nope!
That's Logan for you.

The silence of the night was decorated by smaller background noises that would make an appearance every few minutes, like sweet little reminders of how the world was still moving around you. You were truly in the moment. Small things like that in life were always so nice to appreciate. I mean, in my opinion, it's the little things that make the big picture.

"Patton..." Logan spoke as he took a deep breath in, giving me a large hint as to what this would be about, "I need to speak with you about something, as there's just us two here"

"Let me guess-" I interjected, "you're going to ask me something about Virgil, right?"

He paused for a moment to think before continuing his words, "yes, that does tie into it. But it's not the main thing I wish to speak about with you."

Oh? Not the main thing he wanted to ask me about...? That's strange, I would have been convinced he just wanted to ask me what's up with Virgil. I mean, I know for a fact if Roman was here that's the thing he would be asking me about. Either way, I stayed silent so he could continue.

"You see, I'm sure we're all thinking the same thing, that there's got to be something up with Virgil that you aren't telling us about. It's the only logical explanation as to why you would take such a strange approach to inviting him to move in. I mean, it was a personal shock for me as I thought you were still fixated on getting Emile to move in. But as I said, Virgil is not my main focus here," he spoke calmly yet with a certain sternness in every word that left his lips.

"Then... what is your main focus?"

"You are." He declared bluntly , still avoiding all forms of eye contact with me in exchange for examining the constellations dancing above us.
