Chapter 39: Cliff diving

Mia's POV:

I spread the blanket on the sand as Justin holds Rosie in his arms, and Fredo does the same to Alex.

Makenzie grabs Brandi's hand and drags her to play in the ocean.

I smile at her, kicking the water at Brandi with the most beautiful smile on her face.

I look at Justin, who's shirtless with his shorts. I'm wearing a black bikini, and my flip flops are now on the blanket.

I hold my hands out to grab Rosie and Justin hands her to me.

"Hello gorgeous," I say with a smile.

I kiss her chubby cheeks while Justin places a huge umbrella above the blanket, providing shade for the twins.

I look up at the sky, partly cloudy lit with just the right amount of sunlight.

The breeze blows her my hair with the sound of the current relaxing me.

Nature is so beautiful.

I'm interrupted in my trance when I feel Rosie poke my cheek. I look down at her, and she smiles at me, her two bottom teeth showing.

"Oh great. Paps," Fredo groans.

Justin and I look over to our left, seeing paps take pictures from the boardwalk.

Justin looks back at me.

"I'll be right back," he tells me.

He runs to the paps and exchanges a few words with them. I see the paps nod at him and a few beliebers appear.

Justin gives them all hugs, exchange a few words and laughs.

He takes pictures with them before hugging them once more and heading back.

"What happened?," I ask.

"I just told the paps that they can take pictures, but not bother us or talk to us. And the fans? I just hugged and took pictures with them."

I nod in understatement.

He holds his hand out.

"Now c'mon. Time to go cliff diving."

I set Rosie down on the blanket and Fredo starts to play with the twins and I grab Justin's hand, heading to the cliff at the end of the beach.

We get looks of shock from people walking by us, but we keep walking until we get to the cliff.

We stop walking and I take a deep breath.

"We'll jump together. Okay?," he asks.

"Okay."

We go to the edge and I look down at the water.

My heart starts beating fast, causing the breathing to harden.

"Baby, you okay?"

I shake my head and step back, our hands still intertwined.

"Justin...," I breathe out.

He comes closer and grabs my waist.

"Mia? What's wrong?"

"The w-water," I choke out.

He raises his eyebrow at me.

"What about it?"

The last time I've been in water was my last suicide attempt.

I'm terrified.

I wanna get rid of the anxiety I have. Maybe it'll help with the stress a little.

"C'mon. Let's jump," I tell him.

"What? You sure?"

"Yeah."

We go to the edge of the cliff.

"On three," he says.

I ignore him.

"On-"

He jump and he falls with me, our hands still intertwined.

The wind blows through my hair and I feel my body hit the water, and I let go of Justin's hand.
