It took Lindsey a moment to come back to his senses, to break away from Stevie's delicious red lips. He saw her instantly become worried and he smiled, tucking a strand of her hair away from her gorgeous face.

"Everything's fine, you and I are fine." Lindsey calmed her down first. "I just want to talk before this gets completely out of hand and it's getting there really really fast."

"Oh, okay. We can talk." Stevie relaxed, allowing him to take further steps away from the door she had just closed.

"You look fantastic." Lindsey said, laying his hand on her thigh once they sat down. "It's a shame you've wasted all this time, getting ready. I'm going to tear this all off anyway." He smirked, receiving a playful slap on the arm. "First of all, let me apologize for being an asshole to you. Seeing Don took my by surprise, I guess, I shut out the fact that we're not the only two people in the world. Then your girls came and..." Lindsey sighed heavily. "I started thinking about my own family and it got a bit too much to deal with. I wasn't angry with you, that would be stupid. I just realized that we haven't got past our reconciliation and the fact that we got to be happy together again."

"I'm glad to hear that, but Linds, I get it. You're allowed to feel that way, because I feel the same. We've been spending all this time together, without a single care in the world. The next thing I know, my husband shows up." Stevie emphasized. "I genuinely believed that we were done for good. My God, we had opportunities in the past. Nothing happened since Fleetwood Mac reunited back in the 90's. Then we found our way back to each other again and I didn't know how to deal with it, I still don't. I simply let myself be happy."

"That's what I'm saying, Steph. I haven't been this happy for a long time." Lindsey reached for Stevie's hand and held it tightly in his. "You and I have caused each other so much pain and heartache, but no matter what, you're still the person, who makes me the happiest. That scares the hell out of me."

Sighing, Stevie nodded her head. She brought her free hand up to Lindsey's face, brushing her thumb softly over his cheek. "Do you want something more out of this?"

"That's the question I keep asking myself and I can't seem to find an answer to it yet." Turning his head slightly, Lindsey pressed a kiss to Stevie's palm. "I know we set some rules, but I don't care. Stevie, I love you and that hasn't changed, it will never change."

Reaching up, Stevie gently kissed his lips, her eyes brimming with tears. "I love you, too." She whispered. "What are we doing here, Linds?" She asked, a sad smile crossing her lips. "We're both married, we have children. We can't just make an impulsive decision, just because we feel good right now. Knowing us, we could be hating each other's guts tomorrow morning."

Lindsey laughed lightly and nodded in agreement. "I just wish I could turn back time and be the man that I am today."

"You don't know, where you would have ended up. Maybe we wouldn't even be here together at this moment." Stevie wondered aloud. "Besides, we both have made a lot of mistakes."

"Yeah... Damn you, Don Henley, and your private jet." Lindsey joked, which lightened up the mood. "Can we agree that we're not going to hate each other in the morning?"

"Oh, I intend to make you feel a lot of things, but that is not one of them." Stevie smirked, getting back up on her feet.

Pulling her into his arms, Lindsey just wanted to hold Stevie close for a minute as they swayed together in their embrace. "We still have a lot of time left to live in our bliss. We'll see what happens then."

That Stevie could agree to. Giving him a peck on the lips, she drew back and took him to bed, with intention to give him a lot more than that.
