Rihanna's POV

I stood by the kitchen sink washing the dishes. Katy brought the girls back pretty late last night so they were still up in their rooms asleep. Marshall stood beside me and dried the variety of dishes I handed him.

"Hey Ri." He said rubbing a towel over the flat surface of a glass plate.

"Yeah?" I asked looking up at him.

"Would you want to go out to dinner tonight with Dre and his wife?" Marshall asked turning his face toward mine, he always stared so intently at me, letting me know I had his full intention. Chris did this at the beginning of our relationship, back when I thought I was in "love." Then near the end he just shrugged everything off, never looked at me for longer than a second. He would always just say "fine" or "whatever Ri." It pissed me off so much. Marshall surprising listens to everything I have to say even if it is stupid bull shit that he doesn't care about.

"Yeah I'd love to." I said kissing his lips, then turned my attention back to the dishes.

"Cool, Dre doesn't know we're dating yet so this should be interesting." He said drying off a cup.

"He didn't figure it out when he dropped you off back at the house, after the fight at the club, back in Detroit? I mean I pretty much threw myself at you... Are you sure he doesn't know?"

"Nah, you were upset and looking for comfort. Dre probably saw it as nothing more then that."

"What do you think his reaction will be?"

"When he finds out?"

"Yeah."

"I don't really know."

"You think he'll like me?"

"What's not to like Ri? You're funny, honest, and beautiful."

"Okay now your just sucking up."

"I am not."

"Thank you."

"Your welcome, now come on I want to go swimming." Marshall said tossing the towel he was holding on the counter before taking my hand in his. This reminded me of when he held my hand on the Ferris wheel back at the Fair last night. The feeling of his warm hand interlaced with mine sent chills through my body and felt absolutely electrifying. The feeling of holding someone's hand is similar to the sensation of their breath against your lips before they kiss you, or the feeling not the sound, but the feeling of that person whispering in your ear. It was the most innocent yet erotic feeling in the world, and I loved it.

Rihanna's POV

I walked out to the pool area wearing a gold bikini. Marshall was already in the pool waiting for me to join him. I slid off my flip flops before deciding the stairs into the water.

"We should take the girls out boating sometime." Marshall suggested swimming over to me.

"Yeah that would be fun, boating is amazing." I said with a smile. When ever I go back to Barbados I have to go out boating with the family. Its one of my favorite things to do while I'm there, so to do it with Marshall and his kids would me fun.

"Yeah I bet they would love it." Marshall said playing with the water in front of him.

"So do you like it here in California?" I asked curious. He hadn't really said anything about his mini-vacation with the girls, I know being out of the cold isn't something he's used to. Hell I'm not even sure if he likes the heat of California, I know most people would, but then again Marshall isn't like most people.
